IWC Mark 12 service advice sought
Hello allI'm a newbie here and would really appreciate yr advice.I own a IWC Mark 12 some 14 years old that I love but which is somewhat troublesome, i.e it keeps poor time occasionally stops ( and was like this even after service at IWC London centre). Its one of their notorious 'problem children' even with JLC movement, or because of that movement.Should I send it back to the factory in Switzerland for a service ?Does anyone have any experience of this watch and of factory servicing ?IWC do not give estimates in advance of seeing the time piece and I am afraid its going to cost a bomb to repair ( exchange rate ¡ê - euros poor)any advice appreciated.Thanks

A couple of questions about automatics...
Fortunately, I learned that it is not good to change the date within a few hours of midnight before doing so.Question 1: My assumption is, however, that it would be okay to change the date forward during those hours by changing the time past midnight, then setting the time? It seems that the gears would be doing what they are designed to do, just faster. It's my understanding that the reason you aren't supposed to change the date during those hours is that there are gears that are engaged and the "date gear" shouldn't be moved by itself while engaged with the "time gear". I'm SURE that if I have the basic idea correct, I've extremely oversimplified it.Question 2: How much of a pain is it to change the day/date on a Seiko Orange Monster? I assume if it was stopped, and you didn't know if it was stopped at an a.m. or p.m. time, you'd have to set it forward a day using the time setting, then set it to a time that wasn't within the "don't change the date" time range, change the day a

Watch Movement Question
I was wondering if this was plausible. I bought a Movado watch around 4 years ago. Recently, the battery looked like it was dying (movement slowed and then it would barely move at all). I took it into a dealer to get a new battery (after looking for the longest time for one that could remove the back off the case). Watch worked fine for about a week or two, then it started to slow again. I took it back and complained that they gave me a bad battery (some shops are notorious for this from what I know).They “looked” at it and said that the battery was fine and the movement was broken. I’ve always taken great care of this watch and extremely paranoid about it, so I think they were fishing for me to cough up a couple hundred on a movement that didn’t need to be fixed, since they do repairs themselves. I’ve had other watch batteries die similarly in the past with other watches so that’s all I think it is. Any suggestions/advice would be appricated!

Can someone explain to me if there is a difference between 904 L Steel & Oyster Steel. The latter has been used to describe the Steel used in Rolex Watches this year
