Well, I got a kick in the gut today.My jeweler, who’s an excellent watchmaker and my “Gal Friday” for anything I need done that’s jewelry related, is drastically cutting back her shop hours, and will finally close her shop early next year. Julie’s been diagnosed with cancer.Over the last two years, she and her significant other have become good friends to my wife and me.Jules seems pretty matter-of-fact about the whole thing, but I can tell she’s scared. I’m scared for her. I just wish there was more I could do for her than be scared.She’s going to continue to work from her home-based shop, but there’s about a 50% chance of her losing her right arm from the elbow down.
