The coolest part of this ultra-complex watch called the 1f4 is really tough to notice unless you are looking for it. Even though this timepiece is double-sided (quite literally and I will get to that), it is an automatic. The spinning rotor of the watch is placed in the bezel, actually both bezels. You see, the bezels are actually made out of sapphire crystal. Under them is a spinning piece of 18k gold (available in various gold colors) that is the rotor. The only problem is that the transition between the sapphire and the rotor is so smooth you can't even tell they are different. So to inform you that something is actually spinning, each rotor has a single inset diamond that spins around. This little feature is the beginning of one of the most technically sophisticated timepieces on the planet.My hands-on experience is with an unfinished 1f4 prototype. My new Aquatimer"chirps"
Hello all. First, let me say I've been reading a lot of the posts on this forum and you are a great group of people with some amazing watches.I am new to IWC. I have been a huge Blancpain fan for many years but I recently discovered IWC. I just got my first, an Aquatimer on a steel bracelet. I also ordered the black band (nylon or Kevlar?) and I will switch in a couple months. I really, really wanted the new Ingenieur Vintage, but at twice the cost of the Aquatimer, I just couldn't pull the trigger (of course, I'm regretting that a bit now!)Anyway, my Aquatimer is awesome, but it chirps. Whenever I twist my wrist to move the watch a bit, it makes a chirping sound. I'm pretty sure it's not the movement, but the bracelet. Just an observation I was worried a bit at first but now it's not a big deal. I'm looking forward to this forum and my next IWC.BrianIWC.jpg

Hey everyone I have a Birthday coming up next sunday on the 19th. Any way's I was thinking of getting myself a new watch but as of right now I'm having a hard time with the fallowing one very little money and two which watch to chose, I could wait a few more weeks and save up some more money for one of the fallowing watches I'm gonna post or just buy something else instead. What do you think I should do? P.S I'm on disability so my money is a little tight right now.Here are the watches I'm thinking of getting.1) Citizen Eco-Drive 2100 Chronograph $ 350- 4002) Seiko Monster in either the orange dial on a bracelet or the black dial on the rubber strap $ 300 - 350.3) Swiss Army Ambassador automatic day/date $ 3004) Bulova Marine Star Vibrating alarm $ 179.00 at TJ Max watch comes with box and papers. It would'nt make much of a difference if I have to save a little more to get on of the first three but after seeing that Bulova I sought of like it. :D

More than one a day.
Do you wear more than one watch a day? When all I owned was quartz I could wear the same watch for months, but after catching the Automatic bug, I find myself switching watches daily.

Aquanaut ownership experience
So I have been looking all over trying to find a decent sports watch that I can set myself apart from other watch fans with (I already have 2 Rolex watches so have a hard time settling for a sub or SD let alone a modern sub) yet can be a daily wearer that I don't have to always be conscious of as I would with a vintage or dress watch, with concerns of water, bumping, scratching etc. I'm not planning to dive with it but might go for a swim with it, may play a round of golf with it or go for a run with it.From what I understand the Aquanaut 5065A is one of the better options to meet these needs. So I was wondering how the ownership experience for people has been with them? What is the service cost? Service interval? I have heard the modern deployment clasp is a nice upgrade to the older version, have you made any other tweaks? Do you golf and swim with it? Have you scratched yours and had the scratches fixed or lived with the damage?My local AD doesn't carry Patek (would have to take a 2
