With a retail price of $16,200 the 18k gold Breguet watch is currently on eBay awaiting January 9th, 2011, when the auction will end. The proceeds are said to go to the New York Philharmonic's School Partnership Program. When the money is eventually delivered, the children who attend schools that benefit from charity will no doubt be shocked to have received money from a man that died almost 200 years ago.The charity sets up music education programs at New York City schools. Hi All,I am a long time lurker and occasional poster!Previous watches include a PAM 312, AP 15300, Bi Metal Daytona and currently enjoying a GMT Master.I am relatively new to Patek, had tried on an Aquanaut previously and really liked it but the timing wasn't quite right. Having renovated a house last year, paid for a wedding which is coming up in the next few weeks (), sorted the honeymoon etc I feel the time is almost right to pull the trigger and buy something else.Currently considering;Aquanaut 5167Royal Oak 15400 silver dialRoyal Oak Chrono silver dialToday I tried on a white dial 5711. Wow. Haven't stopped thinking about it since, really loved it.The problem is here in the UK (not sure if the same elsewhere) I am being quoted 3 years waiting list for new (?18 030 list price) or I am looking at circa ?21 500 for a 2013 with box and papers.My concern is whether paying considerably higher than list opens me up to a big hit on depreciation as I am theoretically paying thousands more
