Invicta 7500 wrist watches news:
When I first read about the new Ball Engineer Master II Slide Chronograph, I for some reason had the refrain of "Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slippinginto the future" pop into my head. Is this new Ball the future of chronographs? Well, time will tell. For now, though, it definitely is an intriguing iteration. If you were only to look at the dial of the new Ball Engineer Master II Slide Chronograph, you would have no problem identifying it as a chronograph: it has a traditional "tri-compax" layout with the 30-minute register up top, running seconds at 9, 12-hour register at the bottom, and a tachymeter scale around the outside. When you look to the side of the almost 48?mm case and see no pushers surrounding the crownthen you begin to question your assumptions.Slide In Its Neutral PositionOf course, a brand like Ball is not going to play games to give the appearance of a chronograph while actually tucking other functionality in;?so, how do you engage the chronograph? Well, that?is a
With the smartwatch invasion upon us, there are those who have hidden their heads in the sand, those who have hopped on the technological bandwagon to design hybrid models at breakneck speed to turn an easy profit, and there are those who have rolled up their sleeves, stayed true to their roots and taken a stand for traditional mechanical watchmaking. Turning the trend on its head, Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie, has unveiled a timepiece whose design is inspired by a smartwatch but its 100% Swiss core has a mechanical heart: Swiss Alp Watch. The special edition (50 available) has a white gold case (38.2x44mm) enclosing a manual wind HMC324 calibre which provides a 4-day power reserve (96 hours). The movement brings to life key time functions: the hours and minutes adorn the centre of the signature smoky dial as leaf-shape hands glide over the applied indices and the seconds appear in a counter at 6. The watch on the right is a Universal Geneve Tri-Compax in stainless steel. It belonged to a man named Reginald Fullerton, who was the grandson of the great early 20th century watch collector (and commissioner of the most expensive watch in history) Henry Graves, Jr. It was sold at the final Graves auction that took place in June of 2012 at Sotheby's.? I purchased it at that sale for around $2,750, and you can read why I did that right here.?The watch dates to about 1945 (Fullerton purchased it new from the Henri Stern Watch Agency in 1948 while visiting with his grandfather) and features a triple calendar, plus moonphase, and chronograph, in a steel case.?The watch on the left looks a heck of a lot like my Universal Geneve, and was even sold alongside my watch at the HSWA in the 1940s, but it's worth about 100 times as much.? It is, of course, a Patek Philippe reference 1518 in yellow gold, and while it looks a lot like my UG, it has one (ok, a few) very important differences.? This w
Hi guys, new member here!A few days ago I bought my first Oris, a 51mm prodiver chrono. After searching online and calling oris service too, I got advice to forget removing the rubber ring of my prodiver bezel. Everyone said there is a hole and screws underneath and it would look bad. Guess what?I did. I carefully removed the rubber. And I love the result. There is a steel ring attached to the bezel with screws that still helps you to lift the bezel. I guess it will look cool even if you remove that ring as well (as the screw holes are really tiny), but will keep it on for now.The only thing that I hated on this watch was the rubber. Now I love everything on it. Thanks for looking BEFOREAFTERBEFOREAFTER
Hi! Dumb question of the day. why is the back of the RO not finished like any other part of the watch? It is kind of sandblasted, by why wouldn't they brush it to match the rest of the case or bracelet? It would be a little difficult, but not impossible with everything else they've accomplished... Looks kind of unfinished to me
