The newest James Bond movie, called Spectre, will hit theaters on November 6th of this year and, as we all have expected and anticipated, Omega has unveiled its latest official 007 watch, the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra James Bond Limited Edition, to coincide with the film’s release. The brand didn’t arrive at this number by coincidence, however: the movement used in the modern versions of the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra, of which this watch is one, resists magnetic fields greater than 15,000 Gauss. Independent Watchmaker vs. RSC
My Y serial Sub is from late 2003, so it's about 6 years old and probably ready for a service. It run a tish fast, but consistent, although out of COSC specs. The case is nicked and scratched up pretty good. I wear it as my beater watch. Any reason why I shouldn't use a local independent watchmaker who has (or had, but currently has a large inventory of parts) a Rolex parts account? One guy I was recommended charges about $300-400 to service a Sub Date. He will refinish the case and bracelet as part of the service. The RSCs charge about $550. Why not save up to a few hundred bucks? I was also recommended another local watchmaker who charges $175. Now that seems too cheap. I had a bad experience with the NY RSC, so if I go the RSC route, I would use Dallas.

What watch does your watchmaker wear?
I took my Bulova in to my watchmaker's shop last week to have it cleaned. He is an older gent who has been a watchmaker for over 40 years and is Rolex certified to repair their watches. He is a man who makes his living repairing mechanical watches but on his wrist is a Swiss Army Watch in quartz. I asked him why and he said "its a good watch and u dont have to mess with it, just set it and wear it" I wonder if more watch professionals feel the same way?

Trade ROO Elephant for New Style ROC?
I'm currently an AP ROO Elephant owner, which I absolutely love. However, like all watch sickos afflicted with the sickness, I have developed eyes for another. I'm considering trading up to a new style ROC (black dial, silver sub dials). I've been drawn to the style of the ROC and I think I'm ready for a bracelet again. I also have a small wrist (6-ish) and moving from a 42mm to a thinner 41mm will be an easier wear on my wrist.I'm quite tortured by this decision as I can't quite seem to pull the trigger. The Elephant has held its value incredibly well since I acquired it a year ago and I'm a bit concerned with the ROC doing the same as I like variety in my collection and am regularly flipping every 1 - 2 years or so.Want to get some feedback from the community. Am I crazy? Any and all ROC pics from current owners would be wonderful!Thanks in advance for your help.
