Jacob & Co. JCG-1 wrist watches news:
It's just a plain NOS Yacht-Master from the fronttill you flip it over and have a look at the inscription on the casebackPlease do not copy the case back scansI haven't had much of interest to post of late so I hope this makes up for some of the shortfall. My research todate is as follows,:-Maxi Yacht Rolex CUP 2003 timepiecesMy summation, findings and conclusions to-date on the Maxi Cup presentation Yacht MastersNot very much attention has been paid to the quite unique and very rare breed of Rolex watches. That is the presentational watches awarded at Rolex sponsored events, the highest profile watch known to-date being the 24 hour Daytona, well here is the story behind my own Yacht-MasterThe event was held at Porto Cervo Italy in 2003 in which Rolex timepieces were awarded in the prize giving, including my Yacht-MasterSection A contains a brief history of the series and the then current 2003 event expectationsSection B a summary of the events racing from the Alfa Romeo competiti
SARD 007...SARW 011...Both are keeping within plus or minus 5 seconds a day for the short time I've owned them...both sport roughly 40mm SS cases, white enamel dials, black alligator straps & 6r2x movements beating at 28,800 bph...Both are fine for the casual business work place...differences between the 2 are minor...the SARD 007 has 3 complications, 2 of which are retrograde day of the week and days of the month functions...the shorter Arabic numerals mean that the dial does not appear cramped...the crown has almost an onion appearance and the hands are black, and the movement is a 6r24...The SARW 011 has 2 complications and the white enamel dial serves as a back ground for blued hands, Roman numerals...the signed crown is straight, the black strap has blue accents & the movement is a 6r27...

...but having looked at the original purchase receipt that came with my recently acquired Speedmaster Professional, I think Omega are even worse! The receipt, from 2006, shows the watch at ¡ê1575. Now I'm not sure if this was the RRP at the time or included some form of discount, but baring in mind it came from Goldsmiths who aren't exactly forthcoming when it comes to talking a deal, and there was no breakdown on the receipt, I'm inclined to think that it was the RRP. In which case, it's gone up by a third in three years... Anyway, I LOVE the watch, and it's now sitting very happily alongside my '68 Seamaster De Ville and my '67 Sub 5513.
