So E. Clark sends in a question about his vintage Waltham watch...The case has a strange marking I have never seen (an Anchor)After going nuts for quite awhile, I stumble across this incredible site(Some of the words are in German, but Google translates it easily.)The site has TONS of case marking drawings and what company they came from! From A to Z and others too!Just click a letter and...WOWMikrolisk - was Feines f¨¹r die Tasche- Das Informationsportal rund um die Taschenuhr!
I was wondering if there are common associations people make between watches or brands and occupations or activities. I know there are some really obvious ones (Breitling -> small aircraft pilots), but I was wondering if there are lots of others or if I'm imagining things. Some that I exist (and why):Breitling Navitimer: Small Aircraft Pilots (APOA)Rolex Yachtmaster: Sailboat racing (Rolex Cup Races)Omega Speedmaster: Engineers (NASA??)Tag Heuer Monaco: Lemans (Steve McQueen)I'm sure there are plenty I'm missing, but those are the ones that came to my mind immediately. What other associations do people make?
hi all,i am trying to find a watch i used to have many years ago. i have searched online for a while and can find no reference to it at all. The watch was a mens silver bracelet style. it was analogue with a mirror background but when you pressed a side button the mirro became a digital face. i am pretty sure it also used to have the world time built in to the digital side. when the button was pressed i am convinced the digital display was green. i cannot remember but have something in the back of my mind that it may have been a casio, possibly not though. i am thinking that i may have bought the watch about 15 years ago from elizabeth duke (argos retailer).if anybody has any idea of the make and model i would appreciate any help.
Well i would like to thank all the enablers here that posted all their juicy pics of their beautiful Ap's. Well I moved out two of my watches to fund this stunning timepiece. The fit and finish is amazing as is the imense wrist presence.Special thanks to my friend David SW for another flawless transaction. On with the pics
