Jacob & Co. AC-M6 wrist watches news:
Happy Veterans Day 2014 to all our Vets, past & present!Being a Marine Corps Veteran myself, I am thankful for those that came and served before me & those that served after me, and my thanks & prayers go out to you all today 11/11/2014. Best regards, JimPS. I have been posting this message here and elsewhere for the past 8 years, and while a few others have from time to time on various forums, I waited to see if anyone else was going to give rightful tribute to the Veterans today & no one posted what should be a (given or natural thing) to do on this hallowed day, to give thanks & salutations to all of our Veterans. My hope & prayers are, that Patriotism and reverence be restored in the hearts & thoughts of all Americans.
This topic may have come up once before and I did a search and could not find it but I read somewhere that they both use the same quartz movements. I was in a local store this weekend and saw some Tissots for the first time and thought they were very fine Swiss watches, just as good as the Tag Heuers that I've seen, for half the cost.
I thought I'd show you this vintage Omega 120M I picked up recently just in case you haven't seen one before.Known as the Big Blue, it's from the mid seventies.Beast of a watch.Cheers
I have stumbled upon something that I can't seem to learn about via research online.I need the help from TRF experts :)I have understood that some Rolex watch cases destroy two-piece leather straps because they have a sharp edge or a sharp groove in the case. Some examples are 6 digit Subs and GMTs.I am talking about just buying a two-piece leather strap and putting it on.NOT a two-piece strap with CURVED ends or CURVED spring bars.NOT a two piece strap in which you leave the END LINKS on, or buy special end links.Just buy a traditional leather two-piece strap, take off your bracelet and end links, put the strap on and that's it.Apparently, some watch cases destroy such straps.I am very curious about this. I used to think it was only 6 digit subs or GMTs, but apparently 5 digit subs and GMTs do this to.Which Rolex watches do this and which ones don't?What do I look for in a watch, when I am shopping for one that won't destroy a traditional leather strap, without having to take off the b
Hello all,I am new to the forums and by way of introduction, I am a 21 year old college student looking to purchase my first Rolex soon. Every since I first began showing interest in watches when I was younger, I always loved the Yachtmaster 1 and found it to be the most beautiful watch. Now being close to graduating college and in the financial position to purchase my first big boy watch I am considering purchasing a 16622. As much as I love the new one with the SunRay blue dial, it seems to be outside of my budget as of now. I have tried doing as much research as possible, but being new to Rolex I have a few questions.First, although I plan on keeping this watch for many many years (hopefully forever), if that is not the case and I decide to trade up to something different in maybe 5-10 years where can I expect the value of this watch to be? It seems like I can pick up a really nice late year 16622 for 6-7k right now.Second, keeping aesthetics and personal taste out of the quest
