Longines Automatics - technical data
Hi there fellow Longines fans. I'm working on a short evolution of Longines in-house calibers for men's watches starting with their first (the 22A) and running through each one into the 70's. I'm missing some small pieces to the puzzle though. If you have any specs on their movements let me know which ones. Of course I'll give you credit for assisting on compiling this information. private label hamilton 930
I inherited my GF's private label pocket watch, I am trying to learn as much as I can about this watch, here is what I know so far.The watch is an open faced 18s lever set pocket watch. The case is made by Crescent Watch Case co., serial number: 89225, it appears to be Nickel. There are no further marks on the case except for some very small marks that appear to service marks.The movement appears to be a Hamilton 930 grade, SN 34514, this is a fairly early SN, puts it between 1893-95, the face is marked E.P. Sundberg, a Fargo ND jeweler. Inside on the back of the movement it is marked as follows:the SN: 34514, the words "safety pinion", E.P. Sundberg in fancy script is engraved, along with Fargo N. Dak. Other than the above, the only other marks on the movement is the small "S" on the mount for the escapement...there may be other marks but none that I can see.I have looked on the net for examples of this watch, have found nonehave been able to find a 930 with PL marks, but none f

Proud to share some better shots of my new baby! The 3970 is a classic Patek piece that was produced from 1986 to 2004, and with its case size of 36mm I felt like it was perfect for my 6.25 wrist. In fact, I think it's so perfect for me that, well, I already have one in yellow gold (see this thread: .rolexforums/showthread.php?t=281994).Still, I tend to buy in twos just because I have this fantasy that I'll be leaving behind my watches as heirlooms to my two daughters. What should follow a 3970J? Well, I decided that it should, very fittingly, be a 3970 in platinum. Thoughts on rounding out my watch rotation...
So let me start out by saying that I am a man of modest means. I am a public school teacher and spend significant time saving and selecting each purchase. With that preface out of the way my current collection consists of a 16750 matte dial that is currently being serviced, a white dj41 smooth bezel on oyster, and a nomos metro. So I have two lines of thinking here that I would welcome opinions on. 1. I do not have a true dress watch, so I was thinking about the new cartierultra thin in steel that comes out this fall or a reverso. I need it to be fairly versatile as I do not often need a true dress watch. 2. Sell my collection and put it towards one Grail piece. Either the do journe chromatic blue or patek nautalis or aquanaut. Or even a stainless skydwller. Just what I have been mulling over recently and would love any input/feedback. Thanks.
