Great watch. Not so great if you don't wear it everyday. If it is left idle for a day or two it will start to lose time because it does not have a battery. The great thing is you'll never pay for another battery.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received my watch. It's classy and elegant; not too showy. The face is not very large and I'll need to have a few links removed from the watch to fit my wrist, but the quality and value are impressive. Great price for a great watch!

Another question about buying habits
When buying a new watch do you first decide on a model and then shop for it?Or do you take a look at what's available and see what you like?At any given time I could find at least a dozen watches I like. While shopping around I will look at sales. I will check the bay and vintage dealers to see what's available. If the urge is strong enough I'll buy it. If I can wait until the next one, I wait.

Very Odd Indeed
There's an oddity on the UK eBay site right now. Can't link as it's a commercial seller. Suffice it to say it's a - Vintage Hamilton 987 10k Gold cased fancy lugs 17 jewels over wound.The movement's a 987-E, but the face and case are completely unknown to my eyes. I see a bit of an Ellsworth resemblance in the dial, but only a bit. The case is completely unknown to me. Any theories on this oddity?

Putting a watch together for myself and would like to get your opinion...40 mm watch, 100 ft water resistance, military style, ETA movement (quartz or mechanical - haven't decided yet), stainless steel, acrylic crystal, tritium hands and markers on dial.Heres a picture of the watch ...it is just a mock up at this stage:

Royal Oak Ref. 15300ST Discontinued!!!
I was reading today that the 15300ST is now discontinued! Looks like the only Royal Oak references to be sold moving forward are the new 15400 (40th Anniversary 41mm with cal. 3120), the 15202 'Jumbo' (39mm with cal. 2121) and the 15450 (37mm not sure if it is cal. 3120 or a different one).Time to get that 15300 like mine!

Authenticating & servicing Omega?
