Movement 1120. Need history lesson!
I know about the Valjilux 7750 movement (had that in other watches), but can anyone tell me about the Seamaster 1120 movement? Inhouse? Reliability ect.?Thanks!2250.54 on way!I searched and found this:The 1120 (created in 1996) is based on the ETA 2892-A2 which has been around since the mid 1970's. It's a great design and capable of very good performance. The 2500 has been discussed several times here. It's the 1120 with a retro-fitted and slightly reshaped co-axial escapement added. Omega went through 3 different incarnations (A, B,and C versions) because of problems but the C's seem to be fine. The 8500 was built from the ground up to function with the co-axial escapement so I'm predicting very good performance.

Another question on patek
i dont know if there are any patek experts here (like there are for pam and rolex) but i have a question about a patek 5146 the web site shows the movement to be a 315, but i have read that at some point they changed to a silicon wheel 315, then to a 324. no date on the change, and like i noted above, the patek web site still shows the 315 movement (in the pictures). any clue as to what they did and when? just want to know what to expect at the dealers (and how old their stock is depending on what movement/when the changes went into effect). thanks, mark

Hi all,I¡¯d like to hear about your experiences buying a new Rolex from an AD. I¡¯m receiving my doctorate in the spring and am very interested in rewarding myself with a classic No-Date Submariner.For example: How do I start the process? What advice do you offer? Should I expect a negotiated price? Is it wise to buy in a different state in an effort to avoid taxes?I live in Wisconsin, with easy access to a local AD, semi-local ADs in Chicago, and wouldn¡¯t be against non-local dealings as well.
