My Favorite Apple Watch OS2 Updates & New Looks For September 2015
Today, on September 9, 2015, during Apple's press conference event, a series of updates for the Apple Watch were announced that rival the volume of news from when the Apple Watch itself was originally debuted last year at this time. In fact, Apple has made a lot of announcements today across various product categories from iPad to iPhone, and Apple TV to Apple Watch. For Apple Watch, the major announcements are really about some new aesthetic options (new cases and straps) as well as the new Apple Watch OS2 operating system. What I'd like to do in this post is sum up the new Apple Watch announcements that I am more excited about - especially having worn the Apple Watch since its launch.I originally predicted that Apple would debut an enhanced app store experience allowing for the download of third-party watch dials vetted by Apple that might even sync with new animated backgrounds on the iPhone. Girard-Perregaux 1966 Perpetual Calendar Watch
It is deceptively simple and pretty. I think I actually prefer Girard-Perregaux's use of minimalism over a brand like Vacheron Constantin. This is their 1966 Perpetual Calendar watch with an automatic in-house movement and also a moon phase indicator. A lovely thing in 18k white or rose gold. As I couldn¡¯t decide whether to put this in the Ball forum or the Longines forum, I decided to try here. If any of our excellent mods thinks this belongs elsewhere, please move it as needed.I¡¯ve had my WAD (Watch Acquisition Disease) in remission for the past 4 or 5 months and hoped to be able to keep it in check. Vain hope, and I¡¯ve had a nasty relapse in the last couple of weeks! I¡¯ve never been one to ask ¡°help me decide¡±, but I¡¯ve been chewing on this non-stop for a week and need to make a decision...I¡¯ve wanted something along the visual lines of the Rolex Explorer I for quite a while. Normally, I¡¯d be the first one to say ¡°then get one and be done with it¡±, but I¡¯m just not ready to drop that much coin. I could, but something in my psyche just won¡¯t let me do it yet.My AD of choice will give me a good price on either of these watches, but having not seen either one in person, I just can¡¯t decide. Should I swap my 116610 Sub for a 16610?
Hello all,I have a 116610 Submariner that I got as a gift a few years ago that I really like, but I have relatively small wrists so it looks a bit large on me. I'm just not crazy about the size of the case and the bulkier appearance. I have an offer from a reputable dealer to trade it straight across for a V Serial 16610 Submariner that's in excellent conditionAnybody have any thoughts on whether or not this is a good trade? It feels like a fair trade, but I'm a bit worried I may regret not having the ceramic dial somewhere down the line. I have a 16710 GMT that I love to wear and feel like the 16610 sub is a good fit.
