[B]____________The 2009 NYC GTG Report___ DAY 3 _______(GTG event) - 57 pics. ! ! )____B]SATURDAY - May 15th 2009 - The Main Event. We started our day with a nice breakfast in a not very fancy but cozy Morning Star restaurant on thecorner of 57th St and 9th Ave. As is it always the weekend following mother's day - the 9th Ave wasblocked off for about 20 block due to a fantastic food festival. We went in 2007 and 2008....and youbet - we went this year as well. After some walking through the food fest we jumped in the can and went to Cartier Boutique on 5th Avewhere we saw some phenomenal watches from Basel 2009 and also attended their exhibit upstairs thatincluded 231 carat diamond, Triple Crown Trophy as well as some cool Art Deco Mystery Clocks and manyother beautiful Cartier artifacts. We had to hurry up and be at the hotel before 2Pm so we could change andget to GTG on time. Despite shortage of time we walked by Omega Boutique and of course had to stop in.Leo still convinced us to sto
Just picked up this Benrus this afternoon in a local Antiques cooperative. Minimal wearthrough on case highpoints, very clean dial (not sure if it is original) and keeps reasonable time so far. I have already cleaned the case exterior a little to remove grime and dirt. I wasn't sure what to expect to pay for this one as prices seem to be all over the place for Benrus, hope I didn't overpay at $40. Cooments and information on this beauty would be appreciated.P.S. I was more than just a little influenced by this forum in buying this watch.P1350317.jpgP1350308.jpgP1350309.jpgP1350313.jpgP1350320.jpg
I bought this back in October, but the bracelet was faulty: too wide to fit between the lugs properly (nice QC Omega!). I guess this is what happens when the watch is sold on a NATO. I took it back to the AD in December and it took Omega until yesterday to get it fixed. That's quite a long turn around time for fitting a new bracelet. I'm glad to have it back, and I just wanted to let the rest of the forum members know that Omega appears to have similar turn around times to Patek.
I hope this works I've been trying to post pics. Please excuse the iPhone camera
