Ebel 9955Q41/163450 wrist watches news:
Louis Cartier followed his success with the Santos when he designed and released the Tank in 1917, inspired, appropriately, by the design of the Renault tanks used in the First World War. Cartier presented the prototype to General John Pershing of the American Expeditionary Force. Cartier expanded on the simple square of the Santos; the Tank features a square watch in a rectangular case with its straps hidden under vertical sidepieces. The watch features blued, sword shaped hands with a winding crown that is topped with a sapphire.
Members of the HODINKEE team are often asked about our personal watch buying and wearing habits. That's understandable – we spend our days around incredible watches, both old and new, and most of us have dedicated not only our careers but also our lives to understanding and appreciating these timepieces. This year, we continue our annual tradition of sharing our watch-wearing habits of the past 12 months. We asked every member of the HODINKEE team, from Kelly, to Blake, to Eric and Will, to Felix and Jason, to Evald, to Paul, to Ben and John Mayer, which watch, out of all the watches they've worn in 2014, they spent the most time with. Just wanted to intro' myself and say Hi. Was looking into purchasing a new watch last week and stumbled upon the crazy world of watch collecting. I can't believe how much info is out here.. Good and bad thing really. The Good - Im able to make a well informed decision. The Bad - My search for one watch has opened my eyes to collecting.. The wallet does not support the latter.. Anyway, I tried searching for more information about the Swiss Legend brand but wasn't able to find too much. Seems like a good brand (associated with SWI) but there was also a lot of discussion around the movement in the one I was interested in (The Ambassador) with the CL888 automatic movement. I've received it and I definitely like it, but now have buyer's remorse..Is it a good watch for the price ($349)? It's no Hamiton, but I dont feel I know enough about watches in general to make the judgement call on if I should keep it. So thats where I turn to all the experts. I know the easy answer is to kee
When I saw that new purple worldtimer I wasn't really my thing, but it might just work for the 5711...
