In the parking lot of the U.S. federal building in West Los Angeles, an eight-ton steamroller moved back and forth over a pavement strewn with more than 4,000 wristwatches. Yet, when the torture stopped, not a watch was ticking.Thus went Operation Big Crunch, endorsed by none other than the august French jewelry firm of Cartier. The stunt was aimed at discouraging the lucrative rip-off of luxury goods through counterfeiting. The crushed timepieces, which will go on display in Cartier stores around the world, were phony renditions of the company's famous $650 Tank watch. They were nabbed en route from Zurich to Tijuana by alert U.S. Customs inspectors. Once in Mexico, the fakes could have been sold for $300 to $400 each.

Daytona traded for AP RO 15400st
Hi All,It's been 2 hours and so far no regrets. I made a f2f trade for a silver/white 15400st for my white 116520 Daytona. I had concerns about size, but I'm very happy with the fit on my relatively flat wrist. It was my first time handling an AP and it was love at first sight (and handle). Boy I can see how this can be very addicting!The Daytona is gone but will definitely be missed. I guess I'll just have to find a Daytona C someday to fill its void.

I've been wanting to buy the Rubber Breitling strap for my Colt 44 but didn't want to spend the money and then not be happy with it. I was at my jewelers the other day looking at watches when I saw he had cheap rubber straps. I figured why not, it's only $25.Just installed it and I love it! The quality is actually really good for only $25. I'll keep this one for now but I will be buying the Breitling strap eventually!

Recently, as per a thread that I started in the other Watch Topic section. I was thinking of getting a Rolex DD. To do that I would have to trade one of my Pateks -5127R or 5167A.Well, after a lot of thought and reading what other members said, I decided NOT to go with that idea.But then I happen to see Jorge's photo of his stunning 5146P and I was in horology love:banged:And the thought of getting one - ultimate PM marked by a diamond at 6 o'clock got me excited.As I would have to sell/trade + cash both of mine.What do others members think?Bad idea or not?Please feel free to include photos, just to help
