Please welcome Mr. ?lker ?zcan who will collaborate with aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer on a few articles discussing materials and processes used in watch cases and other components. Ozcan is a professional Materials Engineer and owns a small R&D company (ndsgnwatches-dealer) - and he loves mechanical watches and loves the exotic materials used in those watches. The purpose of this article series is to enlighten watch lovers about many aspects of watch materials so that everyone can make more educated decisions about the watches they are buying. Now on to Mr. Ozcan:In this first article I have chosen to start with Titanium. Titanium has recently become very popular in high-end watches, and it is not without reason. Just looking for advice. I'm hot on the trail of my first IWC ~ the Spitfire Double Chrono. It's new in the box for $6K. Assuming, of course, it's authentic is that a good price? Would you go for it?Thanks
Hey guys,Sorry if these questions have already been asked but I'm new to AP with a growing interest. First of all, I'm a one watch guy, I have had my Yachtmaster for a while now and as of lately AP has caught my eye.First, I'm looking into 15202 and the 15400 with blue dials. Is this the best way to enter the AP world?Second, I know these are no Rolex, but how well do these refs handle an active lifestyle?Third, are the original AP rubber bands compatible with these? I like to throw the occasional rubber band to fly the watch under the radar.Any recommendations given my scenario? Thanks!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
This coronet logo now appears at the bottom of the dial at the 6 O'Clock position between the usual SWISS MADE.Anyone know what it signifies apart from the fact that the watch is virtually unobtainable what is the official answer and is it significant to you?
