Jaeger LeCoultre Jaeger LeCoultre 47505 wrist watches news:
Last night was the watch industry's annual big award show gala event - the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG). These are our Oscars, and the 2010 winners are interesting. A few surprises, and a lot of watches that just keep winning. I was invited to the ceremony, but was unfortunately unable to stick around in Europe long enough after my last trip to go this year. Next year I will go, and might just sport a Timex!Surprises that I am happy to see? Seiko won the prize for the best Sports Watch with the Spring Drive Spacewalk Commemorative Edition watch. MB&F won for best Design & Concept Watch with their HM4 Thunderbolt. The best Men's Watch prize went to Laurent Ferrier for his Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Balance Spring watch, that I am proud to say was first introduced by me to the world on the Internet here.Really happy about everyone that won. Here is the full list.- The Grand Prize of ¡°L¡¯Aiguille d¡¯Or¡± (the ¡°Golden Hand¡±): Greubel Forsey - Double Tourbillon 30¡ã Edi
Introduction.I feel sorry for Breitling in some regards. No really. Please allow me to explain:This pioneering brand have built up a fantastic reputation for designing and creating iconic, ageless tool watches. During their gestation period on the drawing board these timepieces would have been pre-labelled “Aviation”, “Diving”, etc, etc. However, these watches are just as relevant and practical to the everyman as they are to the professions they are originally intended. Breitling have the knack of creating fit-for-purpose timepieces that are almost elegant in the way they can transcend age, gender and environment, be it down the sports field or with a sports jacket. I do believe this is why the incredibly knowledgeable and strong worldwide Breitling fanbase did not react so positively to some of the recent contemporary designs that have been presented by Breitling. Why change something that was near perfect already? There was definitely a furore instead of a fur
I have a vintage mechanical (non-automatic) Seiko that's in really great shape and keeping very accurate time. However, when I wind it up it usually winds ok for 4-5 turns and then it stops clicking, almost as though it's not catching, then after another 3-5 turns it catches and winds again for 4-5 turns. I'm able to use the watch and it runs fine. I'm just wondering why it doesn't seem to be catching on every wind. Any advice?
Finally got my Bulova Precisionist today- I thought this day would never arrive! A domed crystal made the pix tricky, but I love the moire pattern (it's a textured dial- not painted. It's also a little bigger and heavier than I expected- which is why I pulled the trigger as soon as I saw it. Hallelujah!!!Sorry about the dial showing yesterday's date- I didn't notice it until this posting. I think around Christmas or New Years I'll check and see how accurate it REALLY is.
what would you prefer out of these two ????
