Longines L2.669.4.78.5 wrist watches news:
...with a pot of Chinese flowering green tea! How's everyone else starting out today?Cheers
I've noticed very little activity for the winder forum lately. Is everyone just bored with their winders, or not using them much, or just satisfied with what they have? I find winders darn right interesting and enjoy watching them work. I have three single winders (Orbita, Wolf, and Steinhausen) and may purchase a Orbita Voyager as a fourth. My Orbita Sparta Telsa winder (with its rocking motion) is cool, but doesn't fully wind my watches that need only clockwise movement (Tags). It does great for my Baume & Mercier Hampton. How can we generate more interest here?Bruce
I have an original Reef Ranger that developed a problem with the crown not screwing down all the way or seating properly. I own other watches with screw-down crowns, so I know to be cautious about the threads crossing etc. I have it wrapped up and in my safe, so it has not been exposed to the elements (or submerged in water). Without a good recommendation from someone I know/ trust, I tend to be suspicious of jewelery stores who also claim to do watch repairs.I have taken it to 2 different jewelers: One said it could be stripped threads, needing either a new crown, a stem tube, or both. Another tried to tell me that there essentially wasn't anything wrong with it (unbelievable). I live in the Houston, TX area, and I wanted to know if anyone has any recommendation on a reputable watch repair person I might use. I really don't even mind the idea of shipping the watch to someone, so long as they are trustworthy and the repair doesn't cost as much as the watch cost me when new.
Can anyone recommend a couple of Omega authorized dealers in the US (other than the big chains) who are willing to cut a good deal?I'm looking to by an Aqua Terra, but not at full price.
I only have an Omega Speedmaster in my collection and I am looking to add one of these two but I can not decide which! Please help me.
