Longines L2.285.0.87.6 wrist watches news:
We're always on the lookout for brands that offer especially good value for a mechanical watch. Especially if that watch happens to be Swiss made and powered by a high quality movement¡ and even more so if that movement happens to have an interesting complication, such as a GMT or chronograph. Davosa, a German brand established in 1993, specializes in offering such watches. Ranging from a few hundred to around $2,000, the Davosa watches have classic looks, high quality components and the build quality one would expect from a "Swiss Made" watch.? Unfortunately, like many smaller European brands, you (if you're in the US) might not have heard of them. Well¡ let's change that.Case: SteelMovement: ETA 2893-2Dial: BlackLume: YesLens: Sapphire with A/R coatingStrap: Black LeatherWater Res.: 50mDimensions: 40x46mmThickness: 12 mmLug Width: 20 mmCrown: 7 x 4 mm screw downWarranty: NAThe Davosa Vigo Dual-Time is a watch that immediately caught my eye. So like the title says, I am going in to purchase my first Panerai tomorrow! I chose to go with the 113 and must say it will be some sleepless nights until I have it on I am having it shipped to me from out of state AD who gave me a smoking deal and will save tax! I was deciding between this and the 183 but decided this would be a better first watch with the 183 to follow.I am going with the 113 because I love how the white faces stands out and the multitude of straps that can go with itI can already see that demon growing rapidly as I surf the boards.. Anyways I look forward to being on here and will of course post pics as soon as it arrives :D
Hi all,As an update to my recent thread re AP ROO and small wrist, I bought the Panda in the end.. Taking your advice I got the short OEM strap as well and it fits great.. Thanks guys! (Pics in the other thread..)Just something I'm concerned about though.. After giving it a good wind (say 30 winds) and wearing it for a full day, I noticed that after taking it off, it stops in about 13 hours.. This has happened twice already. Is this normal? I thought it's power reserve was 3 days..This is a brand new watch as well so servicing shouldn't be an issue.. Kindly let me know your thoughts guys.Cheers!
Let me start this thread by saying that I rally, really like the SS Sky D. Would be white for me. Or maybe black. Who cares. I love them both And I also appreciate that the combination of an annual calander and second time zone are very clever and represent great value in SS for what you get. But all this talk of the Sky D movement being the most complicated that Rolex makes? That being the case, why is the SS Sky D significantly cheaper than the SS YM2? I¡¯ve just read a thread about a supposed price increase for the SS Sky D and much talk about it being too cheap. But I don¡¯t agree. The Saros system whilst extremely clever is actually quite simple in operation. And the 24 hour wheel is fundamentally a function of simple engineering. So I¡¯d put it the forum that Rolex¡¯s most complicated movement is actually that in the YM2 and that the Sky D is actually quite fairly priced for what you get and not the bargain that some would suggest?Thoughts?
