Longines 8224-1 wrist watches news:
Junghans ¨C Meister Driver HandaufzugThe late 19th century was a milestone in the automobile industry with inventions by German engineers such as Gottlieb Daimler (1834-1900) and Wilhelm Maybach (1846-1929) who were close to Arthur Junghans, the son of the eponymous watch brand founder and car collector. The love for these revolutionary vehicles, especially 1930s cars, bursts from the Meister Driver Handaufzug watches. Both dials feature a blend of classic colours from the period with a mixture of anthracite, silver and vanilla beige. Each two-tone lacquered dial has a different display: the white minute track takes centre stage on one whilst the other showcases the ivory hours. The time functions (hours and minutes in the centre, small seconds at 6) are fuelled by the manual wind J 815.1 calibre inside the 37.7mm steel case.Price: 1170 CHFBy Sharmila Bertin
If nothing else, I like it for the lugs : )
After my Mother died, I was given my Grandfathers watch. On the face it says Longines, with the logo beneath. It has a sweep hand below the regular hands. The chrystal is pyramid shaped when viewed from the base. The chrystal makes a "crease" down the middle making it a bit awkward to read. The inscription on the back is from the bank for which he worked, honoring him for 25 years of service through 1955, so I assume it was purchased in that time range. I have been all over the web, and cannot identify it. I would be truly honored to know if anyone here can tell me more. I have uploaded a couple pictures. Thank you so much in advance!
Hi, First of all may I apologise for what I am about to ask. I have purchased a couple of cheap watches from China on ebay. They really don`t look too bad but I can`t figure out how to remove the links from the bracelet. The sellers are not being very helpful. Now this is where I am asking a lot of you. I do not know how to copy pictures and place them on this thread so I am asking that you go onto ebay uk and look at the bracelets. The item number is 300893482550.All the watches have the same bracelet. Thank you in advance of your time and patience.
Does anyone know the reason why AP choose to have display backs on some models of RO while not the others? For example, only the basic Royal Oaks have display backs. The other models with chrono or dual time complication as well as some models with leather strap all don't have display backs. Same for the offshores. Is it to minimize thickness?
