Maurice Lacroix AJ31214 wrist watches news:
Hi everyone,I just settled here from another forum, DMB invited me over. I just thought I'd introduce myself to everyone who doesn't know me.I'm a German living in Perth Australia, and you guessed it, I like watches, especially Omega. Here are a few pictures of my collection thus far:
GMT2 ceramic, without a doubt, though I can see why some don't like the solid end links. It's the first and ONLY Rolex I've ever owned that has actually told the time. My grandfather's old sundial was more accurate than any of my older Rolexes, even when they came straight back from servicing and regulating. I sold my '89 Sub 16610 when it gained 11 seconds a day even with a Rolex printout showing 'perfect' accuracy. I have a '59 Oris manual wind that keeps better time than any Rolex I've owned up to the ceramic. My five year old Omega Speedmaster Schumacher Red Legend keeps perfect time - plus or minus two seconds a WEEK. Swallow that, you guys in Geneva. I'm ready for the incoming and ducking below the parapet right now!
Interesting article: https://.fratellowatches/cert...owned-watches/Opinions are like wrist watches...everyone's watch shows a different time from others, but everyone believes that their time is correct.
As I narrow down to my top two favorites, I think over the next few years I¡¯d like to buy a Platinum DD (36mm) and WG Daytona with the blue dial. It looks like an older Plt DD can be purchased for about the same price as the relatively new Daytona right now. So, outside of personal preference, is there a reason to chose one over the other right now, with the assumption that I¡¯ll buy the other one in a few years? For what its worth, I'll probably never feel comfortable paying full retail for a brand new platinum DD.
Has anyone else ever considered scrapping your entire collection to just have an Explorer and being done with it all? The longer I hang around here the more I feel like it's the only watch I really need or want. I love my others, but I love the Explorer more and more by the day.
