Maurice Lacroix LC6058-SS001-131 wrist watches news:
Nixon has long been mostly a fashion brand, with bold, oversized designs and quartz movements. (Also good for presidential candidates!) With the launch of their Elite collection, they are moving into mechanical movements and higher prices:Simply put, these are the highest quality watches we make. Each one is made to the most exacting standards of Swiss watch makers, is custom built and features the Automatic ETA movement that has been the standard of quality timepieces for decades. The Automatic Chrono LTD is the flagship of the collection, a very limited run of 25 watches, in ion-plated steel with a tungsten bezel and crown cap. Tungsten is very unusual, it's most often seen as the nose cone material for missiles, so if nothing else it's a good conversation starter. Tungsten is incredibly tough and should make a good bezel material, remaining flawless for many years. The watch comes with a matching bracelet, though if you look I'm puzzled that they chose straight end links instead of f
Last year at Basel (2015), Bremont introduced the new ALT1-ZT, a more modern and graphic spin on their ALT1 chronograph line. Having once reviewed the ALT1-B, I found the cleaner design of the ZT to be refreshing, more legible and more unique. Well with Basel World 2016 just around the corner, Bremont has announced a new version of the ZT that might just be one of their sexiest designs to date. The ALT1-ZT/51 takes the ZT and gives it a stylized overhaul vis-a-vis their limited edition and highly coveted P-51 chronograph. The P-51 is, in my eyes, the coolest watch Bremont has ever produced. One of their earlier forays into using historical material in a watch, the P-51 featured pieces of its namesake plane, but more over a design that oozed style and personality. The 3-6-9 dial featured a contrast 30-minute counter at 12, a hidden seconds-dial at 9 with a propeller hand and no hour counter, giving it the appearance of a single register chronograph. The hour markers are all small applied
I am a college student and have been interested in watches for a long time. Lately I have been seriously thinking of getting my 1st mechanical/automatic watch and Hamilton is definitely one of the contenders. Is there any recommendation for a good affordable Hamilton watch for a start to watch collecting? Also, is this a bad time time to buy a watch especially with the price increase and stuff or are they gonna increase further? Any chance of dropping prices??I am really sorry if the questions sound ridiculous or amateur-ish.
This is a two-tone, 22mm, Pilot bracelet (350D). It is one of the most durable and comfortable bracelets made. But look at how the gold on the sides of the links is worn away. These gold links are stainless steel with a layer of gold on the top. This view of the end (where the gold is still there) shows how thick it is originally. This shot of the side shows how thin it has become. So where did the gold go? If it is polished incorrectly, this is the result. Two-tone bracelets present a difficult challenge. By the time enough metal is removed to polish the stainless steel rows, way too much can be removed from the gold ones. There is a way to polish these successfully, but it is tedious and requires patience and the proper training. Even Breitling will not polish as an only job. So the next time your helpful sales person offers you a quick polish you may want to think twice. The MSRP on a new one is up to $2750 now.Steve
I have seen a few issues with this model. Two had a defective column wheel lever (lever would not engage the column wheel, which impeded the proper functioning of the chronograph) and one had a loose (completely unscrewed) oscillating weight screw. All on new watches, fresh from factory. That whole Toyota thingee got me in the mood to talk about manufacture defects and such.
