Maurice Lacroix MP 6178 SS001 32E wrist watches news:
....finally found againI was conviced that this package was lost forever, what a shame..Such a nice Vintage Omega..I gave it a last try this morning and I found out the package was waiting for me in a nearby village.. Quickly I drove to that village with my son Niels and I asked at the postoffice if they would hand me my package. After a long search they finally found it.. :D:D:DMy ''new'' 1959 cal.267 Omega..The movement was recently serviced and running smooth and keeping excellent time. Can't tell you how happy I am with this beauty..The dial is in excellent condition with a beautiful patina. For the next few days this will be on my wrist..

I know, I'm crazy for saying it, but Ulackfocus might be right about watch diameters and width. Now, does this mean I'm going to sell all my 40mm or larger watches? Of course not, but with that being said, I've come to really appreciate the smaller width, height, and bulk of the two vintage Elgins I've recently bought. Modern watches are downright heavy compared to these late 50's, early 60's models. Both Elgins measure around 32-33mm.The Swiss Army watch here is only 40mmThe Revue Thommen is 42.8mmEven though the Elgins clock in at 32mm, they seem to wear much larger, I would assume because they are mostly dial, with a minimal bezel. Not only can I easily read these smaller watches, but I appreciate the lightness on the wrist and their thin profiles. As you can see, even a modern dress watch is a behemoth width wise in comparison.Of course I still love my current watches, but now I better understand part of Ulack's passion for vintage watches after getting a taste of them and their
Hi,Although I have a couple watches (one Rolex and Cartier apiece) I don¡¯t know much about watches - I received both of those as gifts.I¡¯m on vacation and I just tried on the Rolex Day Date 40 in rose gold and with a green dial. The Rolex store showed me the MSRP of $35k and said they could go down to $30k. Is that a good price for this watch? I did some quick googling and saw it only from $28k - $32k. However, I¡¯m not sure if they are all the same watch because although they look the same, some say ¡°anniversary¡± and other don¡¯t.Could someone advise if there are multiple versions of this watch and whether $30k is a good price? I was thinking of countering with $27k, do you think that¡¯s doable? Is this considered a good watch in terms of keeping its value in the future?
