But I didn't buy it.. While in Tampa for the GTG last weekend we of course stopped in to Old Northeast Jewelers in International Plaza to say hi to the guys. As always, had to try some one of the great timepieces they have, including this one. One 'gap' in my collection is a square-cases watch. One of the top 5 contenders for it is the No. 3. Smaller than the Flying B chrono, but I think it fit pretty dang well. And any of you that know me know I'm a sucker for the big date. Add in the MOP indices, black & silver dial on a croc strap and it's just fantastic. So what do you guys think? (and Matt, no fair trying to shove me off the fence & into the "buy" side - yet)
We've seen a few watches received as Christmas gifts, but surely there have to be more. So let's see some pictures of the watch you found under the tree.
I was wondering whether there are any simple chronographs in a reasonable price range (say less than 5000 US$ to have some more options but really I am thinking more in the 2000 US$ region). By simple chronograph I mean something like the Omega Chronostop with no subdials and the possibility to stop the second hand, I think Citizen and Seiko also made watches with the same function, or maybe one with just one subdial, perhaps with two hand in the subdial like the latest PP Nautilus (but not at that price!) but not more than that. Chronographs with two or three small dials are very common but these seem to have gone out of fashion some time ago but I would really like something like that as I like he chrono function but that usually all the small hands make the face too busy for my taste.GLF
Having only placed the order yesterday, at 10:30 am this morning I was able to add my first Omega to my collection, thanks to the professional, polite & punctual DavidSW. He really is a nice guy and so easy to deal with. Thank you David.!First thing that struck me was how clear the watch is with the double sided AR coating on the sapphire, paired with the matte dial. It really draws the eyes to the shape of the hands and the omega symbol at 12 o/c.Totally different to the look on my BLNR, but a perfect addition to sit next to it. The watch was perfect and as described, all paperwork & boxes. Couldn't be happier. I hope the 2500d movement treats me well.
