Maurice Lacroix MI 6008-AO-21732 wrist watches news:
Hi,I came across this watch sorting out some old stuff in my house. Can anyone tell what year and model is this? Have you guys any idea, how much it would cost to service it?Unfortunately the crown is missing - are there any chances to get another one, original if possible? Thanks in advance.P6190072_800x600.jpgP6190073_800x600.JPG
For as long as I've been watching Elgins on Ebay, there has always been someone selling 'military' Elgins in A-11 cases, with black and white 24hr dials (e.g 200697721767). These always look new. Checking up on them, I see a variety of movements, all 8/0 Elgins. It seemed unlikely that someone had stumbled upon a footlocker full of the things, so I figured they were Frankenized.Well, that was confirmed this week. The same seller who constantly sells the 'Military' watches is listing three lots each of a dozen 8/0 Elgin cases (e.g. 200697722888). They've been buying old watches, pulling the movements, putting them in the A11 cases with the military-looking dials, and now they figure to make a profit selling the cases as well.Tempted as I might be by the cases, I can't bring myself to encourage the activity. It's not illegal - unless labelling something 'military' when it's really just military style constitutes fraud (but what would that do to Swiss Army watches?). But I don't lik

Paid a visit to ben bridge timeworks today. Picked up my first, and hopefully not my last patek. Brand new 5167 with bracelet. Took lots of pics to document the event. I took the advice of many forum members and skipped over the bell and ross for my next piece. I still want one, but maybe as a christmas present. Forgive the crummy pics, ill post more pics when it gets some wrist time. And finally, on the wrist at home...but still has the plastic on it.
Hello TRF!I am new to the forum but have been lurking for a very long time on TRF to build up my knowledge on watches. I am in my mid 20s and have finally saved up enough money, after meeting all my priorities, for a 16713 Root Beer. I will get the watch in the next few days and will be posting more pictures. I plan to give this to my father for his up coming birthday. He has been wanting a X serial (my birth year) Root Beer all his life but every time he had his chance to get the watch, he chose to spend the money on us. He is still holding on the 16713 Root Beer paper cut out I made for him when I was a kid so I know how much he wants that watch. In a few days I will finally get the watch. I am planning to get it to a watch maker who has a Rolex account to look at the watch. In the meantime, I am pleading the wise men of TRF for help and give me your opinions. The resolution of the pictures are not great and sometimes overblown, but please do your best to tell me if there are any re
