Michele MWW06D000007 wrist watches news:
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen.I'm trying to do a little better job identifying my Hamilton watch as shown in the photos I posted here:sites.google/site/pinedesigns/hamiltonwatchYou can click on any photo to enlarge it.The movement is marked 982, 19 Jewels. I'm trying to match the serial number to the production date but I'm confused about where the serial number is marked. Family lore says this watch was purchased in 1939 or 1940.I was trying to find a simlar example but I haven't seen one yet with 3 diamonds at 9, 12, and 3 like my watch. Is this a variation of the "Gilbert"? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Marc
I was asked to start a thread about collecting and caring for vintage Hamilton wristwatches. First, a bit about me and my collection - I¡¯ve been collecting them for about six years now and it runs the gamut from a 1926 Cushion Round Engraved (one of only twenty-eight manufactured in green gold fill and only the second one known to exist) to an early 1970¡¯s stainless steel blue dialed Swiss automatic Day ¡®n Date. The collection consists of wind-up movements, automatics, and electrics; gold filled, solid gold, and stainless steel; white, yellow, green, and coral colored cases. I have approximately 100 watches in wrist-worthy condition and about 2 dozen that need to be restored. The vast majority of my watches have come from eBay. I know many folks are down on the corporation, but trust me; there are some real finds there if you know your models. I¡¯m a lazy collector, so I will not take the time to go to estate sales, flea markets, live auctions and such, and I¡¯ve probably missed out
Hey all, I am looking for opinions on this swap. I have a NIB BLNR and am thinking of swapping it for one of the above. I had planned to just add one of the above but also have a HULK which kind of fills my SS Rolex.Only thing is I can not seem to find a 44mm ROO locally to try on so I would be taking a big leap on that one. Downside to the Elephant is the SS bezel. I have OCD issues, so the thought of that getting scratched up makes me nervous to go that route. :)I was originally wanting to go with a 15300 or 15202 but I think I would like something a bit more bold.Any thoughts?ThanksD
Hi gents,I put my full deposit down for a Sky D black in SS. Now I got the call that he has one in black but... TT. I am not a big fan of YG. Can anyone share some pics as... well honestly wanna get the Sky D black itch away but as said... I just don't like YG for myself. Thank you so much!
