Michele MWW21B000078 wrist watches news:
Does anyone here know if there are replacement end links for Seamaster style bracelets which have flat ends instead of curved? I have two of the bracelets - a factory one that came on my 2531.80 and an identical aftermarket bracelet (minus the logos).
Having sold a couple of watches privately before I had been amazed at the manner by which some folk would attempt to beat you down on a price. Perhaps it's human nature and par for the course. As a number of you may know, I tend to keep my watches in pretty good condition, beaters apart since they're worn for the unglamorous tasks. As I don't abuse my watches, I do put them out at a realistic and fair price, describing the condition of the watch and offering pictures to support the prose. The price it must be said, is worked out having taken into consideration other items of similar condition that are offered in the marketplace. However of the two I have sold privately, being the 2255.80 ( Electric Blue ) and the 2538.20, Great White, it was the latter with which I had more difficulty in selling and this despite the fact that it had been discontinued. Strange but true. A couple of months earlier and they were commanding good prices and then suddenly, the market fell away. One party wh
So last week on my trip I had the chance to try on a bunch of new watches, one of which was the 18k rose-gold Portuguese 7 day. I've been looking for one to try on for over a year and finally was able to. First impressions were WOW! The watch looked simply stunning on the wrist. And the size wore larger than expected due to the smaller bezel area & larger face diameter (a big plus for me).I gotta say I was greatly impressed with the look, feel & quality...Now I just need to find one at 70% off list I also tries on the Pilot, da Vinci and Inguiner re-issues too. They were nice, but not as nice as the Portuguese. Unfortunately they didn't have the Portuguese or Portofino re-issues. Those 2 I really would have liked to see, especially the 46mm Portofino moon-phase.
I thought this would be a fun little exercise. We've all seen the words hundreds of times, the ones that sellers use to entice us into looking at their product a bit deeper. But what are the subliminal, ignorant or silly meanings behind them? Feel free to add your own or expand on some of the others I named.Rare- "I've only seen this once or twice before, and only on eBay, so it must be rare." RARE- "I've never seen this before, it's the rarest thing ever. Seriously."Vintage- "This is clearly not a current style, and old is too quaint a term."Uncommon- "Too many of my competitors are using 'rare'. Where's that thesaurus?"No Reserve- "The starting price isn't a reserve, just a suggested jumping-off price. That is close to a fair market value price. But not by design. For reallies."Pictures on Request- "I don't really want to sell this watch.""I have better uses for my bandwidth, like hosting pr0n pictures for my buddies.""Technology has passed me by, I only know how to use AOL
