Movado 0605850 wrist watches news:
I was curious if anyone knew of a reputable and affordable place that refinishes old pocket watch dials? I have an old Waltham Royal that is getting worked on but they will not touch the dial. It's a 2 million series from 1930ish and had a cut out for the seconds wheel. I tried to find a replacement dial but I can't find any that have the cut out. Any insight or road to go down would be helpfulIf you do know just send me a PM
I recently picked up a 50's era Enicar, manual wind 17 jewel (I think it's a 1064 caliber). Anyway, the watch runs finebut only if it's lying flat. Tip it up to about 45 degrees or so and it stops. Just before it stops running, there is a sound like something clunking into, or out of, place. Any ideas what's wrong and is it an expensive repair?
Been looking for a PO with the orange bezel for a few weeks now and finally bought one from the forum. Can't wait for it to arrive and just checked the tracking number and it has landed in the UK. Getting excited now
After lurking on this forum for ages, I finally took the plunge to register! A small introduction if I may? I'm an Englishman who left my home country almost 10 years ago to follow the dream in the US. After living in Chicago and Louisville, I now find myself just a shade south of Nashville. A long time watch lover, I own several Rollie's, a couple of Panerai and some Breitlings. Only having lived here for a few months, I've only been able to find a couple of PP dealers in the whole state. So, if anyone on here knows any others or a good, reputable used dealer, that would be great. I've always kept a side watch fund account, but have not touched it for a couple of years, and now really am into a PP or AP. One local dealer has a 5146J, which I adore, but even though it's new, it looks like it's been tried on by half of TN! Do you think that matters? Or am I just being stupid about wanting a sealed one? Furthermore, I've really enjoyed the hunt and am nervous of reaching its conclusion!!
So, you can see over there <¡ª¡ª¡ª that I¡¯ve only racked up a few posts on this forum, which poses a problem because I¡¯m looking for the safest way to sell my Tudor Black Bay Bronze. I bought my first ¡°grown up¡± watch (a GMT II) this last Fall and then went bonkers buying follow-up goodies in a frenzy. I¡¯ve since slowed, and want to thin the herd a bit. I¡¯ve now bought 4 watches, and the BBB is the only one I bought used. I¡¯ve looked at a bajillion FS ads here to try to get more info, but I need insight from some of you forum veterans. Here are my questions:- will anyone take my FS ad seriously on this forum if I have no history here?- should I be worried about scammers if I¡¯m the seller?- would I face the same kind of scrutiny on chrono24?- what can I do to prove trustworthy to potential buyers? Thanks in advance, y¡¯all.
