Long(ish) term review of Longines Grande Vitesse
I have had this watch for nearly three months now. It wasn't a planned purchase - I didn't even it on my radar as a possibility! I was browsing watches at a local jeweler that sells Longines and Tag. Earlier in the year I had a Tag Aquaracer on my wishlist, but it has slid off of late. So I thought I would go and have another look at them and at some of the other Tags. I tried on a Carrera and a Monaco and quite liked them both. But then I walked over to the Longines display.Normally in my town the Longines displays aren't very exciting. They mostly have lots of Dolce Vita and Evidenza style watches - nothing wrong with that, I have a Dolce Vita and am very happy with it. But nowhere nearby stocks any of the Master Collection, for example. So I wasn't expecting much. But sitting in the case was a Grande Vitesse, and it jumped out at me! Got this new chronograph. Its by Poljot (Russia). Apparently they made 4000 of these for the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. Each of them has a serial # as well. Manual watch.Any further information on this model is welcome.Some pics below...
