This type of polishing has been common on high-end machinery for well over 100 years, and in some realms is a lost art. Its a used semi-vintagey Chronomat from 1997.Its a Limited Edition issue 969 of 1997 marking the end of the (British) Royal Air Force deployment in Hong Kong (the years 1924 - 1997 are inscribed on the case back).I like the older Chronomats as much as the current Chronomat and Cockpit Chrono, and seeing this Limited Edition at a decent price made the deal perfect.Here are some pics of the front, back and on-the-wrist.
