Unlike the Timex Classic Camper ($35), this Topman Smart Futurist Analogue watch is not a little beater watch dedicated to function, but rather a $40 fashion watch with more fashion backwards relevance than anything else. People have funny dreams. Some people have dreams of making watches with incredible water resistance. This Swiss Military 20,000 Feet Diver watch was a dream to do just that; create a mechanical watch that can survive just that, 20,000 feet under water. Not just any mechanical watch, but a chronograph, which is harder to keep as water resistant. The watch was made, it survived the pressure chamber, and it got awarded the word record. The 20,000 Feet Diver defeated the record Rolex set in 2008 with the new DeepSea Sea-Dweller watch by about 50%. It is rather cool that you can buy a Guinness world record holding watch.The story started in 2005 with Swiss Military's 12,000 Feet CX Diver, which was the deepest diving watch of its time. _____________The 2009 NYC GTG Report___ DAY 3 _______(GTG activities - 57 pics. ! ! )__SATURDAY - May 15th 2009 - The Main Event.We started our day with a nice breakfast in a not very fancy but cozy Morning Star restaurant on thecorner of 57th St and 9th Ave. As is it always the weekend following mother's day - the 9th Ave wasblocked off for about 20 block due to a fantastic food festival. We went in 2007 and 2008....and youbet - we went this year as well.After some walking through the food fest we jumped in the can and went to Cartier Boutique on 5th Avewhere we saw some phenomenal watches from Basel 2009 and also attended their exhibit upstairs thatincluded 231 carat diamond, Triple Crown Trophy as well as some cool Art Deco Mystery Clocks and manyother beautiful Cartier artifacts. We had to hurry up and be at the hotel before 2Pm so we could change andget to GTG on time. Despite shortage of time we walked by Omega Boutique and of course had to stop in.Leo still convinced us to stop

Since I have recently refocused my collecting efforts on vintage Omega, I wanted to share this year's class photo. The only watch I already had in my collection prior to 2015 was the jumbo bumper Seamaster that I got in 1987 at an estate auction when I was 7.
