Rolex Day-Date 40 in 950 platinum (Reference 228206)The Rolex Day-Date 40 marks the update for what officially is called the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date,?featuring "a modernized design with a 40mm case"?and a new movement, caliber 3255.?The Rolex Day-Date 40 will be available exclusively in 950 platinum, 18k yellow, white or Everose gold. Size-wise, this new version replaces the Rolex 41 mm Day-Date II (reviewed here) exactly matching the diameter of?the brand's sportier watches such as the Submariner, Daytona, GMT-Master II.The Rolex Day-Date 40 features a range of new dials with thin, laser-etched motifs, applied over a traditional sun-ray finish.?Seen above is the version with?the "deconstructed Roman numerals," with numerous hand-applied pieces making up the individual numerals. ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE - Daytona and Royal Oak
Firstly, please know that I am not a habitual flipper....more of a keeper. I have a TT Sub, BLNR, Milgauss GV, 216570, and a WG DD President.I bought a new SS Daytona last Christmas which I am sorry to say I have simply not fallen in love with. It will definitely be leaving my collection.I have an offer of 8,250€ from a shop here in France, which I am prepared to accept.The shop has a 41mm AP Royal Oak SS 15400 that was new in May 2013, full set, virtually un-worn. His asking price is 10,600€.....so I'm guessing I could do the trade for my Daytona and around 2,000€. There is a pic of the actual watch below. I am a Rolex man, and am new to AP.I will value my fellow TRFers advice and opinions on this possible trade....I am going to the shop tomorrow.Thank you one and all.

Question? Navy strap on Safari
Hi Guys, I'm thinking about buying a navy strap for my safari. I'll have the original safari strap, black rubber a black crocodile and a brown rubber. Haven't seen the navy in real life. Anyone tried it on a safari? How is the blue color, to blue to match the black and white on the safari? Thanks for your thoughts

How do you centre the clasp on your 5167a?
So I have made the decision to get another strap, after the first one is a bit too snug.Just wondering about balancing the watch and clasp - do you have the same number of bars on each side, or more on the 12 oclock compared to the 6 oclock side?Any feedback appreciated.
