Omega Omega 18166 wrist watches news:
What do Robert Morris, John Witherspoon, and Wolfgang Blum have in common? They belong to the fraternity of lesser-known founding fathers. WatchTime readers surely know the names Joe Thompson, Norma Buchanan and Mark Bernardo ¨C our Washington, Jefferson and Franklin. A few trivia nuts may even know who Howard Fine is. But as your eyes move down the masthead, toward the bottom, you¡¯ll find the name of the man who made it all possible ¨C Wolfgang Blum. Blum is WatchTime‘s founding father, and this week, he formally steps down to return to his native Germany, his work complete. As Joe Thompson writes in the tribute that appears in the December issue (on newsstands soon), Blum is the person WatchTime¡®s parent company Ebner Verlag tapped to launch the magazine in 1999. Blum hired the team, set the tone, and oversaw the creation of the WatchTime you know today ¨C the magazine, website, live events, iPad and iPhone apps, special issues, Buyer¡¯s Guide and more, are all products of Blum¡¯s v
Have you ever noticed how fickle your own tastes can be? I don't like to admit it; I like to think of myself as a very decisive and principled guy, but sometimes my own volatility amazes me. The new H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Tourbillon didn't grab me at first. I thought it was fine ¨C a solid design with some admirably artisanal features (check out that delicious fum¨¦ dial) ¨C but it did not blow my socks off. Not even a DLC coated titanium case that makes what should be a classic design somehow contemporary won me over. No, the thing that got me excited was a hidden hand. And then I started to notice all the other things I like about the watch, how it reminds me of one of my sneaky all-time favourites, the Bvx from Bottega Veneta, and how it sets out to satisfy a bold design brief and comes away with a smug smile on its face. This watch is not just a tourbillon. It features the option to have a second time zone displayed on the dial. The way in which this is achieved is perfectly simp
I needed a change. So many sport watches, so few activities right now. I have wanted a DJ for a while and when this one came up at an irresistible price, I pulled the proverbial trigger. I've never had a watch with Romans, so this one will stand out in my humble collectionIt's due next week. (pic from seller).
Yesterday my Canadian built, Chinese guts, very inexpensive chronograph watch took a nose dive. I went to set the time and pulled out the crown and lo and behold the crowd came right out of the watch. Obviously to repair this would be more dollars than I want to spend and finding a watch repairman to repair a Chinese What-ever Caliber is probably more difficult than finding Bin LadenI cannot take credit for that phrase as a Boston Celtic basketball player said that to a kid wanting an autograph (as in you will have an easier time finding Bin Laden than for me to give you an autograph). Long story short, I was kind of toying with the idea of maybe getting another chronograph and in my search I came across some inexpensive chronographs that had a working 3 O'Clock subdial (30 minute timer) and second hand time at the 9 O'Clock station but the 6 O'Clock subdial was described as following normal time and apparently not being a chrono timer but a subdial following the hour hand (if the h
I love this watch and want to add one to my collection. Only issue is the bracelet is not my cup of tea. Looks like the only options are the Rubber or Leather, Croc with buckle or clasp. Is there any other options available for a solid end link bracelet that would look well more substantial? As it is I am leaning to a brown leather strap. The vintage B is such a fine touch
