Refinished Dial Question...
I was wondering how the vintage watch collectors out there feel about about watches with refinished dials?Would you, or do you collect them, or do you feel they lose there collectability and stay away?

It's official.
I stink. Yep, I blew a call on a watch that should have been right in my wheelhouse. Last year I picked up this:I thought for sure that a caliber 352 would be inside it based on this info:- Only 3 Longines movements from 1945 through 1967 had subdial seconds: the 22A, the 19A, and the 352.- The font of Automatic is wrong for the 22A.- The propeller hands and front loading case (introduced in mid/late 1958) are usually found on 34x/35x series movements (introduced 1960).Process of elimination, right? WRONG! Just before 1960 was when Longines was replacing a few different series of calibers and bringing in new case styles and this is a 1959 watch. Found out from Jesse that it's a 19A, the last year they were used. Had to pay up on a bet which cost me a vintage Bulova. Looks like I need to study the transition years of '58 and '59 when Longines was mixing and matching case references and movements.

Llc?
My good friend and I are going to each get a Roo this Christmas. He is getting panda, me, the first offshore, the beast. He is actually my hair guy (sounds more manly than stylist) so I see him every 3 to 4 weeks. The plan is to swap watches often because we both love both. My though is to set up an llc so we can add more in the future and each chip in for insurance, maintenance etc. Has anyone done this? I'm a lawyer so sometimes I over think things but I assume you cant let someone borrow your 20k watch and have it be covered if they lose it when they borrow it 6 months a year. Thoughts

Last week I made a thread with a similar title about the San Juan Islands off of the coast of Washington. This week I am in Hawai'i for two reasons: wedding planning, and checking out a condominium investment we just purchased.The future Mrs. and I met in Hawai'i a few years back when she was living and working in the Waikiki area. It can either be lived in, or rented out as a hotel room through their rental pool. My First Patek Philippe
Hello everyone, I find myself coveting my first Patek and have become completely enamored by the sublime finishing on both the 5711 and 5980 in rose. Its really a dilemma because while I love the bronzed dial 5711 for its simplicity and poise, the elegance of it feels less versatile. The chrono is balanced, has a great complication and feels sportier and therefore more of a daily wearer. The challenge for me is the black dial that feels a little more common and I suppose the $30k usd price delta.Am I reading this fairly? This will be my first all gold watch as I've decided that I don't need two AP Chrono, already have a sporty rolex bruiser, and PAM 196 daylight on strap. Plus Tudor ranger on NATO leather strap.And then of course there's the awesome 5990 which is certainly an everyday watch.Thanks a million, I really appreciate the feedback...and apologies for the long post!Justin
