Citizen BL5373-53E wrist watches news:
It's hard to argue with a good Seiko. Affordable, well built and generally cool looking; they sort of define value in mechanical watches. Typically, we've reviewed watches from the Seiko 5 series, which range from absurdly affordable to incredibly affordable. Today, we're going to take a look at a Seiko Superior, which is a couple of rungs higher on the Seiko product ladder. Coming in at $250, still quite low in the scheme of things, the Seiko Superior SSA059 is packed with features, looks wild and is a limited edition of 2500.The SSA059 caught our attention for a few reasons; one was the intense look of the watch. With a black case and dial accented with acid green markings, interesting layering, texturing, compass functionality and a rugged nylon bund strap, this is a robust watch with a very aggressive attitude. It also is fitted with internal and external bezels, which is fairly uncommon. Lastly, is that this uses the relatively new Seiko 4R37A automatic movement, which we were sim
Yesterday Sotheby's New York held its Important Watches and Clocks sale at their Upper East Side headquarters. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the record-setting sale of the Duc D'Orl¨¦ans Breguet Sympathique clock from 1835, a stunning clock with a docking pocket watch - yes, a docking pocket watch.Just looking at the Duc D'Orl¨¦ans, you can tell you're staring at something impressive. The case is decorated with beautiful ormolu-mounted red tortoise shell, it stands at nearly two feet tall, and the amount of gold sculpture is staggering. But it's the little repeating watch perched on top that really makes the Duc D'Orl¨¦ans special.?Abraham-Louis Breguet wanted to tackle the problem of watch winding, and this is one of his finest achievements in the arena. While in exile in Switzerland during the French Revolution, Breguet conceived of the Sympathique system. At the bottom of the pocket watch are three tiny holes. When docked in the gold cradle atop the parent clock, these holes
I have been a member here for a couple of years and I am a fledgling collector with many less expensive watches. I have the option to buy an older Certina "Blue Ribbon" and I would like to know your opinions of the watch and possibly the value. It is 18K gold so I know it has monetary value even if it has little collector appeal. The seller is a friend and I want to be fair with my offer. Watch markings are as follows:Dial Certina- Automatic- Blue Ribbon- Swiss MadeOutside Back 5810 165- 964903Inside Back Certina Swiss- 3/10- 129- 18K- 0.750- Cameo "embossed"- MZ689R "handwritten"Rotor Swiss Pat Certina 28 Jewels- 25-651Thanks for your time, Eric

Guys,I need help. I have an option to sell my 15400 for a 126600 but I cant make up my mind. I have more than enough Rolex watches but I am a sucker for movements. My friend, who works for Rolex, claims that their new movements are fantastic hence I am inclined to sell my 15400 to get a Sea Dweller but AP movements are beautiful to look at.What should I do?
