- This is a great watch. The soft band fits comfortably around my wrist and isn't very heavy at all. The pattern on the band is stylish and the color is fun. The picture matches the actual watch very well.

Christopher Ward continues to develop and surprise. In the last few years we have seen several higher end watches for the brand, all of which challenge our notions of what can be done in the affordable/accessible spectrum. Up to this point, the watches we've seen have all been focused on interesting mechanical complications, specifically a jump hour, mono pusher chronograph and dual 24-hr time.For their most recent delve into the higher end, however, they focused on materials rather than mechanics.The C Ward C1000 Typhoon Chronograph marks the brands first attempt at a ceramic watch. Constructed of black ceramic over a titanium sub-frame, the C1000 promises to be seven times harder than steel for great scratch resistance, light and, in their own words, "virtually indestructible". Ok, what's wrong with this approach?
I made an [eBay] offer on a pre-owned IWC Portuguese 5001 (Power Reserve Auto 18k Rose Gold) and I thought my offer followed a decent logic I offered ~80% of the price for the identical watch as advertised by a non-authorized dealer (gray market). The Seller claims the watch is at 9.9 of a 10-scale, comes with box & papers. My offer was $9K but his best counteroffer was $12K. So my question to the experts around here....am I in the left field with this offer?
