J-B Viot "In Paris" Watch
Real watch maker (who epitomizes watch makers), makes real independent hand-made watch (that epitomizes indy hand-made watches). That is Jean-Baptiste Viot and his "Paris" (In Paris) watch. It is a pretty fantastic creation and I would first like to thank Francois-Xavier Overstake of the French watch blog Equation du Temps for permission to show you these images of the J-B Viot In Paris watch that he took. Aside from the highest image, all photography credit goes to him for the below images. Lucky him to be in France to get a hold of all that he does.The pictured watch from 2008 is a prototype. I believe that by now J-B Viot offers a retail version of the In Paris watch, of course all made by him and highly limited. He has a few interesting philosophies as a watch maker that make him a very practical person. Although his designs are pretty avant garde, he reject use of experimental materials and techniques that can leave watches fragile or unfixable by other watch makers.This all makes

Hey everyone. Basically, I've always liked watches, but never put much thought into collecting them. I've only owned fashion watches in the past, and after my girlfriend picked up a "dress" watch for me last month....I started hunting around online for something a bit more casual. After looking at Guess watches, which I've bought before, I ran across Invicta and picked up a Sea Spider and Russian diver. Ive read the online hatred for them after the fact, but I like their slightly obnoxious size and style lol. I also ordered two Sottomarino's, an Orca and Squalo as well as a Swiss Legend Neptune. I'm still figuring out what I like....so a few low end watches suit me just fine for now. Looking forward to learning and sharing my experiences on here.

I am a high school student, and I got my first decent watch, or so I thought, for Christmas last year.It is a Relic brand from kohls. It is already losing time, the second hand doesn't line up with the markers, and I am planning on returning it.So, for my purpose of this thread is to ask, are Nixon watches worth the money? I was looking at the Manual, and the Private SS.Second, does anybody have a picture of a Nixon clasp? I don't understand how they work, and I would like to see a picture of it to get a better idea.Thanks,cschmall
