- When I opened the box I was surprised, as the picture does not do it justice. It is much more in person. It looks like 14k., very ladylike. It was just too heavy for me to wear all day. Sorry to say, I brought it back.

Omega 2998-4 wrist watches news:
Does it hurt to the the spring run all the way out? Now that I have two Rolexes, this has become an issue. My Milgauss is dressier and I tend to not wear it often enough to keep it alive. If I have to, I'll get a winder. But it seems that would cause additional wear that is unnecessary if I don't wear it for a few weeks. If I'm winding it from dead, how many winds? Does it hurt to backward wind it? Is it possible to over wind it?I've been told you cannot overwind a Rolex. Just checking to see if that's right. Thanks!
Hello all. I finally decided to invest reasonable amount of money to watch I wear. I am fed up with cheap quartz movements and quality of Chinese workmanship. Omega was the obvious choice. I have chosed 3 models and haven't slept for 2 nights reading, comparing and selecting...1. 2531.80. James Bond. Classic blue, etc. Extremely beautiful watch.2. 2254.50. A cult non-Bond edition. Black. Extremely beautiful watch with cult following.3. 3250.50. Impossible to get new (the only CON), but I like this most of all, because of the extra DAY hand (VERY big PRO). I would like to have your professional opinion about those: movements inside, durability, known issues, value after 20 years, etc. Thank you. Thank you very much.
I picked this up today it's a Dubois circa 40s with a EPSA super-compressor case marked with the Trademark (diver's helmet) of Ervin Piquerez S.A. plus EPSA is stamped between the lugs. Only been wearing it since this afternoon but so far it is keeping good time for an older watch will leave it on all day tomorrow and then see. Trying to date the watch i can see it is marked with Anti-Choc (shockproof in French) now after a little research i found out this fact and i quote -"In May, 1947, the Federal Trade Commission declared that it was impossible to manufacture a completely shockproof watch, and outlawed the use of the term. The terms 'shock absorbent' and 'shock resistant' were permissible" 081013a.jpg 081013b.jpg
Please help - I've run out of time. I'm getting on the plane in the morning and I forgot to ask if I could buy a nice Orient or Citizen Chronomaster in NYC. I'll be in Chinatown and Tribeca and I was wondering where I should go if I want to get one of these nice watches.Another question: I have a few nice tank type vintage watches that I do not wear. I'd like to trade them for something that I would wear. Should I take them to NY to do this, or would it be a waste of time to try to get a fair price?????Muchasss gravy. And stay thirsty my brethren.
Hey- remember that email many of us on the ST waitlist received suggesting we would be high on the list for the next LE? Has anyone received a subsequent email ?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
