Omega 55492457 wrist watches news:
For 2011 Lange is redsigning the Saxonia family, and the new Saxonia Thin offers discrete luxury and classic elegance in a case that measures only 5.9mm thick. And at 40mm in diameter, the Saxonia Thin makes a stylish statement on the wrist. This is the thinnest timepiece crafted to date by the venerable Saxon manufactory. The strength of this piece is its focus on the essence of a watch: the time in hours and minutes, and nothing more. Yet despite this focus, the Saxonia Thin remains unmistakably A. Lange & S?hne. A few key details embody hallmarks of the brand: a well-balanced presentation, a succinct minute scale, svelte baton hour markers, and lancet hands blend harmoniously to inform all who see it of the deep roots behind this piece. To fit the thin case, A. Lange & S?hne developed an equally slim manually wound movement that can be admired through the sapphire-crystal caseback. The new caliber L093.1 has a diameter of 28 millimeters and is a mere 2.9 millimeters thick. The
For 2014 Piaget will once again hold and retain the title of "world's thinnest watch" with the Altiplano 38mm 900P. For years now Piaget has been releasing mechanical watch after mechanical watch exclusively dedicated to the notion of being the thinnest possible of that type. This practice began long ago with lots of success. In 1957 they released the 2mm thick 9P movement and in 1960 they released the famed 12p automatic movement. Sometimes Piaget gets de-throned in a particular "ultra-thin" category by another brand who is able to cut out another fraction of a millimeter from the thickness of a case or movement. This year they take the title of absolute world's thinnest mechanical watch back with this actually very ultra-thin creation that is just 3.65mm thick, and whose movement is merged with the case.Over the last few years who has been the most interested in "ultra-thin?" Pretty much everyone. The notion of a very thin mechanical watch has been a haute horology trend as of late.
I don't know if it's against the rules to post this link, but I will, if it's not allowed sorry, and please remove itI found this "database" from a Dutch collector of Vintage OmegasIf anyone knew of this, simply ignore my post :Domega-fanatic/It has very interesting and useful information, various calibers' parts catalogs, old and new advertisements, lot of pictures...Enjoy!
One of the Forumers and Dealers on WUS was closing out his inventory of Marina Militare Watches and I got this one at a bargain price. Since Marina Militare is a brand unto itself and not a replica of Panerai (even though they are very close in appearance) I could not pass up this bargain. Besides, since I traded my Omega GMT in on my Rolex Sub this left me without a GMT model. I plan on wearing this one for motorcycle rides and I can always turn it at a profit, or at the least get my $ back if I tire of it.
I can't remember what thread it was but I recall seeing someone mention about AP opening a boutique in London, does anyone happen to know when they plan on doing this? No to be mistaken for the APSC in London which I know you can buy the limited edition and novelty pieces from.
