Oris Oris 32237 wrist watches news:
.on the Longines Forum, but it's appropriate for here. I was doing a little surfing on eBay and ran across the usual schlock. Some examples can be learning tools though, so here they are. Here's a textbook frankenwatch & redial. It has a good movement, but it was never installed in a Flagship by Longines that I know of:1956 LONGINES FLAGSHIP BLACK DIAL LARGE 37.MM CAL12.68Z - eBay (item 260631669041 end time Jul-13-10 20:37:08 PDT)These military watches did have 12.68's - but this is a bad redial:LONGINES WATCH MILITARY STYLE LUMINOUS NUMBERS 1940 - eBay (item 280527834221 end time Jul-13-10 22:05:51 PDT)Here's a completely bogus military watch. This is a 50's case (reference #2305 "hidden crown" - I have the gold version 2343) for a dress watch:VINTAGE MEN 1956 LONGINES AUTO MILITARY 24hr DIAL WATCH - eBay (item 260632093333 end time Jul-14-10 15:45:41 PDT)Here's my 19AS reference 2343 for comparison (lug shape, etc):This seller didn't know the 22A was replaced in the early 50's
any info would be helpful..i took this watch on trade for some services done at my home..all i know is that is is a 2006 world baseball classic orient star atoumatic...can anyone tell me the approx value or how this watch was produced?
I got this watch because I thought it was interesting. It is not very collectable; the watches shipping was almost the same cost as the watch. Plus they do not make a mechanical watch for the blind anymore; they are either electronic or a talking watch now. Zale's Jewelers contracted this watch out to Baylor Watch Co. to manufacture the watch. Baylor was one of many brand names used by Benrus Watch Co., which was founded in 1927 and continued until at least 1977. The company had a presence in the USA.
It took only two days to arrive. I ordered it late on the night of the 24th, and it arrived at about 1:30PM today. The only reason I didn't get photos up earlier is that I had an evening class to go to.I had intimated to Dennis, in a PM, that I was concerned because the model L3.649.4.16.6 41mm Automatic was described in the ad as having a "silver" dial, while the L3.648.4.16.6 39mm Auto and the L3.650.4.16.6 41mm Chrono were both described as having a white dial. I wanted the white dial and I told Dennis that I was hoping that I was figuring right when I took the "silver" to mean white, which I had deduced by the model no.s of the other two 16.6s. I was right!! I also learned by studying the Longines model numbers, that the 649, in this case, indicated the 41mm version since 648 was the number of the 39mm. I'm learning! In addition to ulackfocus, I want to also give a great big thanks to Wombat! Both of you guys really were a tremendous help to me. Thanks, I love my first Longines pur
First of all, I would like to thank everyone that entered the contest. While all the photos were fantastic, we can only have three winners. Here are the five finalists of the photo contest from which I will select three winners with the help of a couple of the moderators. The finalists are Peppers90, orangedial, SteelerFan65, emagni and kilyung. These finalists submitted photos that accurately portray the essence of the Audemars Piguet brand and from a photographic value standpoint they are just outstanding!!! These finalists are not posted in any particular ranking order.
