- For the price, this is not a bad piece. I am a bit disappointed by the thin band. Also, it seems that the white color is a bit more creamy on the dial than on the band. I did not return this watch but I also don\'t love it.

Oris 690 7581 4051 wrist watches news:
I mostly hang out in the Bulova/Accutron forum but I hope you will allow me to come here to pick your brains a bit. I went to an estate auction this AM and there must have been 1500 watches for sale, mostly junk. They were selling them by the box and I bought a box to get a Railroad Approved Accutron. There were some other Bulovas in the box as well as some Timexes, some Walthams, a Gruen, a Wittnauer, a Hamilton, a Croton etc but here's the one I'm wondering about. This illinois doesn't run and won't set, the crown can be wound off of it. Is it a escapee from the junk bin to which it should be returned or is it a candidate for resurrection. Any information will be appreciated.
I haven't gotten a new timepiece since February - that's four months, count 'em, four - and I find it delightful. As I've mentioned before, it has given me a chance to re-assess my stash and I'm enjoying the process. But I'm also enjoying the watches I already own. Just this week, I took a good look at my ancient Movado, learned to really appreciate my Omega Seamaster Professional all over again (love the red second hand) and savored my black dial Tudor Submariner when I put it on last night after wearing one of my Clercs all day. These pieces are all cool - at least to me (and that's all that counts) - so taking a break from buying has been fun as I consider the next direction I will take my collection. It's always good to appreciate what you already have!
Hey guys. Merry Christmas to all! Been a while since my last visit.I wrote before in this thread about three older watches which belonged to my father and grandfather. Here is another one I did not know I had lying around until today. I will try to find more info on it, though have not had much luck so far. Please feel free to provide some info if you have on it or the brand. It's a gold (probably) pocket watch from around 1970. Only 43mm in diameter excluding the crown. Too bad it doesn't have a second hand. I will see to take it to a watchmaker to have a look and service it before I "use" it. :)11.jpg 22.jpg 33.jpg 44.jpg55.jpg
My current collections consists of the AP 44 RG, Millenary 4101 RG and Hublot Aero bang RG with tantalum bezel limited edition. I was thinking of selling the Millenary and the Hublot to get the new RG 42mm on strap. I think the RG 44 and 42 will be a perfect AP pair. Even though I haven't seen the 42 mm in person. What do you guys think? Kindly let me know. Will appreciate all suggestions and recommendations. The pics of my current collection are as follows.
Hi guys,Currently have my Everest strap on my BLNR with the OEM Rolex clasp.Just wanted to ask for those of you who have alternative straps, how often do you change them out and does it cause wear on the spring bars to frequently compress them to change out bracelets? Also due to using the OEM clasp, it involves removing the screws from the clasp to place the oyster bracelet back on. Would this cause damage to the screws or threads from constantly using loctite each time I replace it?Sorry for the long winded post, but just curious. Thank you for any guidance given!!!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
