September began with Samsung announcing its new Galaxy Gear smartwatch, we share our thoughts on the Gear as well as those of Om Malik, an experienced tech journalist. We check out a couple of new watches from Ulysse Nardin, MB&F, and Bamford and end off with a look at the top women's watches of this year and a visit to Parmigiani¡¯s workshops in Switzerland.1. Parmigiani: Watchmakers Of Yesterday, Today And TomorrowParmigiani is perhaps most famous for its Bugatti watch, but beyond that, the brand actually has a very interesting, though brief, history. In this special feature, our contributor, David Bredan, spent six days with Parmigiani, learning more about their history and learning how they make watches. Hi, I've been jonesing for a solar powered atomic watch, and really have liked the Casio/Oceanus wvq500. My questions are: 1) This watch was released back in 2005is there something similar (and better) coming down the pike? Should I hold off?2) Casio also markets a "Waveceptor" version of the watch on their website (WVQ500DA-2AV, although I can't find it marketed at any outlet). What is the difference between Casio and Oceanus in terms of quality? What extra value are we getting for the extra few hundred bucks?3) Is there a consensus on how good this watch is? Mostly I've seen positive posts, but some have hated it.
I had Nesbit's service my Omega Seamaster 120m Chronometer and they did a fine job. Watch came back looking and running great. I was wondering if someone could explain the results and statistics test they included. This is the first time seeing results and was hoping someone could explain it to me. I attached a photo of the result.
