Hi,I've got this today, a present from a cousin It seems to be the BA 398.0803 but with day/date solid gold, never had a gold watch beforeIt doesn't have a bracelet, and I want to know how I can be sure if it's gold or just plated, to the naked eye it seems gold, it has stamped on the side of the case the Omega Logo and 20 SSorry for the crappy pics, but you got the idea...
HiI have a 1927 Illinois Cushion Case that I need a part for. The watch maker that is repairing the watch asked me to search for the part so as to speed up the process. In a previous post someone suggested that I contact Jules Borel & Co. I did and if you are not a watch maker they are a pretty unfriendly bunch. Wouldn't even tell me if they carried parts for the watch so I could have the watch maker call them. I know there are a few very knowledgeable Illinois collectors here so I'm hoping someone can point me to a source for parts that will at least talk to a non-watch maker.ThanksTony
So, I have finally ordered a BNIB black dial 15400 and expect to receive it early next week.I will admit to having been amazed by the wide range of prices/discounts/deals, including the kind offer of not a penny off from the AP boutique in Geneva. The recent actions of the Swiss National Bank spurred me into action, and I will report back on my chosen grey market dealer once the transaction is complete...In the meantime, I am very much looking forward to entering the rarified world of Audemars Piguet and haut horlogerie. Here's a brochure shot just for fun....
What are you wearing for NYE? SLC for me! Happy New Year everyone!
