Bought this watch for my brother. They sent me the model with rubber strap by mistake. I showed to my bro and he liked it, so Watch Grabber refunded me the diff in price. - ----

Panerai PAM00289 wrist watches news:
Hey there, Im new here and have been reading alot about the seiko "monster" in this great forum and found a few that seemed to be similar. I am however kind of confused on what the difference is. Do they all have the same movement? Are they all close in legibility at night? Are they all considered "monsters"? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!
Hello, my name is Scott I am new to this forum and to real watches. After a few years of admiring Hamilton watches from afar I have finally managed to get my hands on one, a Railroad Autochrono. Now, I have always been fascinated with watches and their workings but I know very little about them. I was wondering if anyone could steer me towards books or links that can help me out. I prefer a good book if possible.I am looking for several things. Firstly anything on watches, movements and terminologies as I know very little about this stuff. Apparently my watch has an A07-211 movement, well I have no idea what that means. Secondly I would like to get some history on Hamilton watches. Are there any books out there written on the subject? Any guidance is much appreciated. Thanks very much in advance, Scott
manufactured from late 1938-1948, excluding 1942-1945 when all manufacturing was for the war effort17-jewel 987 movement51,044 produced in yellow gold fill5 produced in coral gold fill (I don't think one has ever been seen)4 dial options: applied gold numerals, two-tone with black enamel numerals, luminous, and roman black zone (very rare - I see maybe one per year listed on eBay)28mm diameter excluding the crown38mm over the lugs16mm strap widthIMO, this design is probably the inspiration for the current Khaki lineup as it was offered with a luminous dial. The model pictured above was never in any of the catalogs, but did appear in a number of magazine advertisements.first three photos from Art Deco Wristwatches
Having just purchased a Victorinox Ground Force V25792 which I knew was a dicontinued model, I contacted Victorinox to see what year the watch was manufactured so that I could determine when to have it serviced. I received the following reply:The first two digits (05) are related to the manufacturing year, i.e. 2005The next two digits (09) are related to the manufacturing month, i.e. SeptemberSo my new watch is in fact over five years old and requires a service.
