although i hold hamilton as my favorite watch manufacturer, i have a special place in my heart for elgin. unlike hamilton who produced nothing lower than a 17 jewel movement, elgin ran the gamut from 7 to 30 jewels. here then, are a few of the elgins i either own or have owned at one time:a 760-an offset wire lug-a big barrel-on the right, a 607 bumper auto. one of only four automatic calibers 100% fabricated and manufactured in the US; all four elgin designs-my latest project, a big cushion-

Interesting Find - The Army's Timekeeper
Found this in the collection on Saturday. It is a most interest "Army" dial. Boer War or WWI not sure. font is very early style.Its an important piece, as we rarely see dials like this, two time zones, 24 hour and 12 hour AND marked "in Camp" and "at home"Note it "IN" camp but "at" homeAlso clearly states "The Army's Timekeeper"Very, Very cool stuffACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: NAWCC. Photos remain property of NAWCC and may not be used without permission

Jumbo 15202 question - winding
hey guys,wondering if my baby has an issue. My watch was stopped so I wound it last night then set the time. a few hours later I noticed that the time was unchanged but I heard the watch ticking. I fiddled with the crown and the watch started to keep time and has since then. The question is - if the crown was pulled out (or more likely, not securely in position A / 1) would the minute hand advance? Im hoping this isn't a service issue. Thanks for taking a read.
