- Looks great but doesn't have the quality for it's price. Wore it one day and the paint came off the bracelet where it crosses over on the wrist. Returned the next day.

Panerai PAM00268 wrist watches news:
This is a very special year for Baume & Mercier – the firm is celebrating its 185th anniversary. (The company reckons its history from 1830, when brothers Louis-Victor and Célestin Baume opened a watch dealership under the name, "Frères Baume," in Switzerland. The name Mercier is that of Paul Mercier, who with William Baume incorportated the company uner the name Baume & Mericer in Geneva, in 1918.) In order to mark the occasion, Baume & Mercier has chosen to introduce, at Watches & Wonders in Hong Kong, two new timepieces. One, an homage to Asian and Chinese culture, is the new Jade Promesse watch; the other is a very interesting new five minute repeater pocket watch – the Clifton 1830 – in red gold. 1 OF 3 The five minute repeater is a type of chiming complication which actually pre-dates the minute repeater (however, watches that strike the time "in passing" rather than on demand, as a repeater does, a

First of all, here are pictures of my father's old, automatic Omega Seamaster De Ville.2013-01-25 18.06.40.jpg2013-01-25 18.09.07.jpg2013-01-25 18.30.41.jpgI think it's authentic and it should be semi-vintage by now. I remember my father wearing it more than 20 years ago. However, he no longer wears it and just keeps it in his drawer, and I'm sure that he has not brought it in for servicing in many many years. He is now turning 65, so I'm thinking of maybe making it a surprise "gift" for his birthday, by getting it serviced and restored.A few points: The watch still runs, both by rotor-winding and by hand-winding. It seems to be running slow by 7 seconds in 6 hours; You should be able to spot some corrosion on all three hands in the second picture; maybe my father has worn it to our family business factory, which uses all kinds of chemicals; so the corrosion may be a result of chemical fumes, I don't know. We live in Hong Kong, the humidity and the wind blowing from the sea tend to cau
Hi all! I'm really enjoying reading all the info on this forum. Really great. My father gave me his old Seamaster Quartz which he bought in the 80's. Any information on this and whether it's worth getting this fixed? It hasn't been running for many years and needs a fair amount of refurbishment. Not too sure as to its value.
I was just out in Vegas and browsing the watch shops, as I do, and found myself unexpectedly drawn to the new 5396. Its elegant simplicity, those gorgeous Breguet numerals, etc. Just lovely. Can similar discounts be obtained on Pateks by purchasing through TRF's trusted sellers as with Rolex? I understand that Patek (this would be my first) is a whole other thing, but thought I'd ask...Ken
