Jewels and Watches
Hello All! I am on a bit of wild Omega chase. My mother has told me about a watch that her mother had when she was growing up. She no longer has the watch and doesn't recall the model name. It was definetly an Omega though. The watch was solid gold with a thin, thin bracelet. To see the time on the watch you had to open a "Lid" to reveal the face. The lid was surrounded in diamonds. The watch is believed to be made in the 60's. Any help, pictures or information would be greatly appreaciated.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, we did. :)Nothing beats being with close family and great friends during the holiday season. We first stopped at Daniel's (clockmaker) home and had a wonderful time (too short) with Daniel and his lovely wife. Then it was off to SD for Thanksgiving with my son and his mother & her other half. =) maverickpathetic pic of the watch to get one in the piczoom shot of Coronado Islandnote the islands in the background, they are in Mexicodifferent viewand anotherone moreClose-up of the Midway Display
If I am not misrememberin, Wittnauers started off as American watches .....( but I have been absorbing a huge amount of watch lore in the last 6 months, and I could have mixed them up with someone else) .....Anyway, as some of you may remember, I lucked into a 14k white gold Wittnauer, with a badly stained/chipped dial, ....I showed it here, a discussionb ensued.....Well I got it back from my watch guy, and it really only took...maybe 3 weeks or so ..........So here's the watch as I got it .......and with a small amount of attention, my watch guy just cleaned and oiled it up a mite....but the movement already looked pretty goo I thought..........I am very pleased with the way it came out .....and Jerry polished it for me too ! ......
Has anyone tried a leather strap on a SS Sky Dweller, and if so, how did work out? Any pics?
