Benarus Moray 40 + 42mm Review
The thing that is great about a brand like Benarus is that they are a known quantity. When we look at their watches we know they will be well made, over built by design, with either classic tool watch looks or something all together bizarre and unique. They also put a huge emphasis on water resistance, so though the watches are generally under $1,000, they will be able to take pressures well above the norm.The watches I am looking at today are part of their Moray line, which has been around for sometime, yet keeps getting new iterations. What makes these two interesting is that they measure 42 and 40mm in diameter. This puts them on the medium to small size for contemporary divers, and as a fan of smaller watches I couldn't help but take them for a test drive. Both watches feature domed sapphire crystals, HEV, 1000M water resistance and Miyota 9015 automatic movements. Possible to swap bracelet for strap on 5726/1a or 5712/1a?
Greetings,Have been considering a 5726 or 5712 for a while I am leaning toward the simplicity and symmetry of the 5726 but was not 100% sold on the strap-only configuration. Not surprisingly I am now interested in the 5726/1a-001.I read that despite the new bracelet version of the 5726 being offered that the old 5726 strap version cannot be swapped onto a nautilus bracelet for some reason. Is this true? Does anyone know if the soon-to-be released 5726/1a-001 bracelet version can be swapped to a strap? For that matter, what about the 5712/1a can it take a strap?Thanks!

To Service Grand Seiko (Spring Drive and Hi Beat Automatic): Must return to Japan?
Greetings (inaugural post)!Have the pleasure of recently acquiring 2 Grand Seikos [Divers Spring Drive and HI Beat 36000]. My understanding is that when servicing required (the watches are new, so in 3-ish years time ) they must be returned to Japan/Seiko. Is there not a North American outlet capable? And what is the average cost/turnover time for such a service? Thanks in advance. NTP
