Renewing the gold plate or not??
Hi everyone,I am posting in here because this is more of a general enquirery than to a specific maker or country of origin. I have a gold plated pocket watch of an unknown Swiss maker in a case by the Illinous Watch Case Co. It was made in the mid 1930s we think and i inherited it from my grandfather in 1969 and the plating is now very thin and worn away in places and i wondered if the general feeling is to leave it as it is being original or have it replated so that it looks good again ?Many thanks, Bob.PS I hope you are all having a great Xmas and that Santa helped you to add to your collections

Hi there, just wondering if any of you here own the 26470 in pink gold with the black alligator strap. I have been toying with the idea of possibly getting this watch. How does it feel, how versatile is it? What pros or cons there are to owning this watch. I havent come accross any members with this model. It would not be a daily watch for me as I have other Rolex or Panerai in my rotation. Thanks gents.

JLC MUT RG Perpetual Calendar <vs> Patek Philippe 5146R Annual Calendar
Hello everyone. I am planning to add a rose gold calendar piece to my collection and I have narrowed down to two choices. Which one would you choose and why?Some thoughts:1) The JLC is a perpetual calendar while the Patek is an annual calendar. To me, perpetual calendars are superior to annual calendars but I can't afford any Patek perpetual calendars. Therefore I am not sure if the JLC is the 'wiser' choice here.2) I am currently on the wait list for a Patek 5711. Buying the 5146 now may cancel my purchase decision of the 5711 as I don't see myself having two Pateks in the near future.3) The JLC is around $13k cheaper than the Patek, taking my AD's discount into consideration. so I may use this difference to fund my 5711.Have a nice day!Kev

Any opinion on whether Nautilus preowned like 3800 ss are peakin in price? Got asked ¡ê25000 for a 1989 or €21500 for a 1983 no papers... Time to wait?
